Buying one of those weapons is an exhausting process. And you cannot amble down the street with your brand new assault boots and camo gear (tags still on them) to get a Whopper and a super sized Coke.

Canada has very similar gun laws to new jersey.  I would hardly say it is exhausting, rather you need to put in the work if you really want to buy one.  

You kind of contradicted yourself here.

A couple things to that:

1. Nobody wants one.
2. Not just anybody can buy one.
3. The gun becomes registered.
4. The screening process eliminates assholes from owning one.
5. If one is ever used once in a crime like the one you guys feature on a weekly basis... the gun will be gone. And there won't be any fools saying, "From my cold, dead hands."

Nobody wants one in Canada?  huh?
In New Jersey not anyone can buy a firearm and every firearm is registered.  Our screening process also eliminates assholes from legally buying one.  I don't see how I contradict myself.
5 is the difference between the two countries.

you honestly believe that? that we are jealous of the US? of what exactly? our cultures are incredibly similar, except for the political divisiveness and the violence. 

is it not allowed to be outraged and baffled at the senseless violence towards other humans and shake our collective heads at why the leaders of your country refuse to address it? THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. I guess if it doesn't happen in canada, we aren't allowed to react to it. 

unfortunately, I've been noticing a bleed towards the north of the political divisiveness. I hope it doesn't get worse. 

I don't know what you guys are jealous at but it is a constant bombardment on how bad the US is.  It gets old.  And it just isn't gun violence it is everything.  Our election process, how we eat, how fat we are, how are pizza is inferior, etc.

I don't know about the pizza. I guess I haven't travelled enough in the US to notice a difference. I always thought many american cities were famous for their pizza (chicago, NY, etc). 

there's a canadian political thread.  you are welcome to join any time you wish. say what you want. but my guess is you won't. because from what I've seen, the only things americans on this board (think they) know about canada is moose, syrup, hockey, and how we apparently (but don't) say aboot.
