Biggest tax evaders are the corporations who have lobbyists on the Hill.
Same ones who make back room deals with politicians... It's shady stuff mang..0 -
^^^
Are you really a Canadian?
Back room deals and shady stuff is not the way in our politics.0 -
Now who is naive. You really don't think there is corruption in Canadian politics?
It's not Russia or Mexico, but where exactly do you think billions of dollars goes when there is a boondoggle?0 -
^^
The way of the gold toilet seat of course.

Speaking of corruption....a viral fb post....from sun media's parliamentary bureau chief...ouch...Post edited by Drowned Out on0

And your point is what?
It is annoying when people post others thoughts without adding one of their own.Post edited by PJfanwillneverleave1 on0 -
Ok that hurt, so please... let me explain....
The post was meant to highlight the corruption of the Conservative party, in line with previous posts in this thread discussing corruption. I so hoped those following this thread would have been interested to read it...maybe I'd be honoured by an agreeable quote or two from what I pray to be my modest AMT clique. Or maybe find someone to engage me in some kind of open communication...and in this validation, find some kind of meaning to this drab existence. Alas, I was so wrong.
In the future I will endeavour to meet your stringent quality control standards. the bar has been set high; I have my work cut out for me.0 -

Now you're talkin,
Like a politician
The bar is not that high.
Speak what you feel.0 -
Now my feelings are inadequate, and I've become what I hate the most?
How will I recover? Thankfully, I'm a possomist.
This too shall pass.

I don't want to google
but what is a possomist?

there are forum standards that trump even yours. subsection 10.10.5 v 1 of the Pjpitdouche code states: Knowing stage banter and improvisational lyrics from all live releases verbatim is mandatory.

Haha. This is perfect! I quit feeding the troll a bit ago. It's a bore.....but after seeing this little back and forth I am considering engaging the troll again. Well played drowned and on point.Drowned Out said:Ok that hurt, so please... let me explain....

Corruption is most likely committed by the party in power because they control your tax dollars.
My point is, it will be the same no matter who you vote for.
The criminal activity within Harper's inner circle is disturbing to say the least.0 -
I don't really think any party is corrupt at the start. I really do think it's because they are in power for to long. When their main objective is to try and keep their powerful job, they will do shady shit to keep that job.1ThoughtKnown said:Corruption is most likely committed by the party in power because they control your tax dollars.

I think term limits would help with this. No incentive to do shady shit to try and keep their job. You're in for set amount of time, do your job, and move on.

I'm not sure about that. I've always assumed that most politicians have to get their hands dirty to get to the top. I don't think they mean any harm, but I think they've probably been playing games and pulling strings long before they ever win the day. It would be nice if our political leaders had to maintain a certain level of public confidence to stay in power. If that were the case, you can bet that they would do a lot more to ensure that the rights of Canadians are respected. I almost wish that the PM was separated from his or her party and elected nationally on a separate ballot.dignin said:

Term limits do not stop the corruption from within the engine that drives a party.dignin said:

Very few people get involved in politics for reasons other than their own gain. Why else would they? A lawyer makes far more in their profession than as an MP, MLA, etc.
However, it sure looks good on a resume if you get elected and return to the private sector, not to mention the name recognition you get.
