So now this fahmy guy is back stirring shit.
    http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/fahmy-thanks-mulcair-trudeau-you-know-who-i-m-not-voting-for-1.2606916
Fahmy said that, because he is a journalist, he “cannot endorse anyone.”
However, I’m very clear in my gratitude to Mr. Mulcair and (MP) Mr. Paul Dewar and the NDP for their support,” he said.

“You do know who I’m not voting for,” he added. “That’s for sure
    .”

    What a snake.
No wonder he was in jail for subversion.
    He is doing it again.

yikes ... did you even follow the case!? ... if you were fahmy - you would MOST definitely not vote for Harper ... please read up on his case ...

if anything what Harper did was keep him in jail longer than he needed to ... they actually impeded his release ...

Harper at least promises not to raise taxes.
    Turdo will run deficits
New Disaster Party will just do whatever with the economy and see what sticks
The Green Party will propose we recycle all money in order to use it twice.

So to recap everything... As I take a break from here again as I can only handle so much of the uber left wing rhetoric and silly posts of other people views and links to news stories from the watered down media we already read:

    1) I've never once said who I am going to vote for
    2) you are all convinced I am voting for Harper
    3) some think I am hypocrite because I learned from my mistakes (interestingly, I went to the Lethbridge Food Bank four times as a student and I send them $100 every year, I don't forget)
    4) if anyone doesn't agree with people who think Harper is pure evil that person is wrong
    5) it appears people who lean far to the left are extremely closed minded. To the point of a lack of respect of any view which isn't consistent of their own
    6) not one of you know me, but you have many assumptions.. Good for you
    7) the internet isn't real and all of you are wasting your time arguing here while doing NOTHING
    8) I am fine with the way things are and I don't want to pay more taxes.

No matter who wins and takes hold of the government, you are going to complain. Then you are going to bitch and moan how the corporations run the world. All the while doing nothing because you say stupid shit on Twitter or Facebook, or because you dropped acid and freaked out at age 19. Or it's just because you like to complain.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, running a country is no easy job, many have tried and so few have left office revered (remember when they considered renaming Canada's largest mountain after PET? )
So carry on with your left wing propaganda, I will lurk in the shadows laughing. Most of all though, get out there and vote on the 19th, even if you spoil your ballot, because above everything else I believe in democracy.

Cheers! Oh yeah and 27 days till I see PJ in Santiago. I'm so blessed... What a great country we live in.

I've always found it quite interesting when I see someone comes on the internet to argue and then make fun of people who come on the internet to argue?

and makes jokes about saying "stupid shit" because they did drugs at a young age, something they have previously admitted to.

and pigeon holes people into one ideology and way of thinking, with little to no evidence of that, all the while doing the same themselves.

I think someone lives under a bridge.

Not going to respond to everything you posted, because it was all laid to rest and you picked up the ball and reiterated the same waste of time arguments.
But I live under a bridge yes. Downtown. I drew some blood. This city she loves me

I am not sure why you continue to attack me personally, but I'm generally surprised by your lack of understanding that a young man makes mistakes and your general lack of a sense of humour.

all laid to rest? because you say so? alrighty then.

not a personal attack. your little point by point presentation required a response, since it was so full of vitriol. all of it wrong, by the way.

1Thought has ignored them and instead has chosen to label all those tired of Harper's obscene leadership as extreme, left wing socialists. In fairness... He's not as interested in legitimate debate as much as he claims to be- I mean... read the questions put to him and read his discourse... er... duck and dodge tactics (more appropriately).

When he's older and relying on our medical system... he'll come around (he's for social programming when he needs access to it). Until then... we should just be patient with his impetuous behaviour.

Ah, to be a "libertarian" in Canada; you get to feel all edgy and hip complaining about big government and excessive taxes, all the while still enjoying universal health care, decent schools, safe neighbourhoods almost everywhere, paved roads, and oodles of parkland.

Nice, I often think the same of American libers, but it's even more pertinent to Canadians.

Once again, (wow this is getting repetitive  ) I have concerns with all the leaders.

I do have a bigger problem with Trudeau than the other 2, I am just not sure what color the sky is in his world. Cut taxes and increase spending, yes that always works. "Build the economy from the heart out" yeah that works. The more he speaks, the more I hear is just fluff.

Harper is secretive and muzzling and I don't like C51 (which Trudeau supports). (How is that duck and dodge?). He is actually promising to spend more money than I would like too. Can't someone promise to curb spending? Why do people have to watch their budget but the government doesn't?

Mulcair is just not engaging, he has been left behind, plus the CBC has thrown all their support behind Trudeau.

Anyways, I have given you thought provoking answers to your debate attempts and you come back with....Nothing and more nothing *yawn*

So it's wrong I think gays should be able to marry? That pot should be legalized? Sheesh, you are all whack.

You can have all the social, programs we have without big government. Except the CBC. That's gotta go.

    Well,

It's amazing to me that everyone thinks it's better to tax the rich more. The people with money who risk everything they have to build a business, which creates jobs for those who want a more secure life. With that risk, comes reward or possible abject failure.
In creating those jobs, they employee people who also pay taxes. The price you pay for the security of a job.
Now, I am no longer a business owner. It is tough sledding, it is a lot of pressure and the Feds DO tax you plenty (write offs help a little, but not what you may think)
I believe the government can continue to provide many of the same necessary services to Canadians with a smaller government and reduced spending.
In fact, I would, save health care by making people pay premiums on a sliding scale (based on income), until you reached $25,000/yr and then you would be fully subsidized (sounds like a hard line tea party supporter eh?)

But you have all worn me out with your narrow minded view of the world. Because I don't completely agree that Harper is evil and is going to destroy the country and take a more objective view, most of you can't handle it. Just like anyone else, you pick and choose what statistics you want to cut and paste that merely fits your agenda. Funny thing, I have been the most objective one on the board.
Fact is, I have let my concerns be known, no matter who wins I think we have vapid leadership.

As for thirty, and Hugh and softreading and whomever else Has decided I'm this boards public enemy number 1, sorry but you just couldn't convert me.
I would give you credit for a nice try, but never once did anything you post even convince me that I should vote one way or another.
All anti-Harper, but you never once mentioned any reason WHY I should vote for the other two. Not one thing. What are the Libs or NDP offering that is any different? Why should I vote for them?
You don't have any reasons, because there aren't any. It's just about "change". Do you really see any change happening? Was the US any different with Obama?
I want different, in 2019.. Il be running for the Libertarian Party of Canada. (Talked to them already)

Happy voting! Most important thing is to vote for the Canada YOU want, not your children or grandchildren. After all. It's ok for them to pay all your debt right

wow ... someone just wrote the rich are risking their lives to create jobs!!!! ... i've heard it all ... the same people who continue to increase their own pay while freezing wages of their employees ... the same people who use loopholes and tax shelters to avoid paying taxes ... the same people who lay off people so they can have a 3 cent bump on their stock and get paid huge bonuses ...

no wonder there are people who still vote conservative ... just not living with any rationality ...

No problems- even people with narcissistic views of the world can like good music. And, you're here, so you probably do. We could sit in a pub and have beers... let's just not talk about how rough the rich have it though... okay?

I responded directly about the CBC and the economy to your plagiarized post, and then you barely had anything to come back with.

The wealthy take all the risk. That comes with the reward. That is the point. Ever watch Shark Tank? It's glamorized, but that is a simple way to describe it.
They shouldn't be taxed anymore than the rest of us. How is that "fair". But, I'll take it the way it is because that seems to be a minority view. (Alberta's Flat Tax was great).

Do you admonish Pearl Jam for being rich and avoiding paying taxes? Do you really think they don't? Now who is being naive. At least it leaves them more money to contribute to causes they have vetted and believe in.

How about Davis Suzuki, who owns four mansions, getting rich off of his "non-profit" organization? He pays ZERO taxes.

It wasn't plagiarised. I referenced the source.

  • Harper at least promises not to raise taxes.

I am not sure why you continue to attack me personally, but I'm generally surprised by your lack of understanding that a young man makes mistakes and your general lack of a sense of humour.

all laid to rest? because you say so? alrighty then.

not a personal attack. your little point by point presentation required a response, since it was so full of vitriol. all of it wrong, by the way.

read carefully. we all make mistakes. some of us just don't judge and get all high and mighty when others do the same.

Puhhhhhhlease. All you are doing is piling on. I actually had more respect for you.

And it was over because thirty called a truce. We had moved on, you stayed behind.

"All of it wrong" Yeesh... It is wrong that I am fine with the way thing are? How can you tell me how I feel is wrong? You honestly don't think I'm a Harper supporter... commmme on.
Have you been open to any praise of our PM at all? Really?

Because of your lack of objectivity whatsoever, I cannot do anything but laugh
I personally don't give a shit who you are voting for. nor has anyone stated they think you are voting Harper that I've seen. the only reason people are talking about Harper is because you are defending him. I don't think he's all evil. I think the viral picture of half his face and half Hitler's is disgusting; not only completely untrue, it's degrading to the victims of Hitler's rule. BUT he IS eroding Canada's identity and his office is moving closer and closer to becoming a dictatorship that is answerable to no one. a PM that refuses to answer questions to the press is a terrible leader. and that's but one example. he also alligns himself with the Ford brothers. he is staunchly opposed to legalizing marijiuana, yet surrounds himself with liars and drug addicts and buffoons. I simply can't respect that.

he is running ads in papers saying that Trudeau is going to give pot to children, that he is going to open brothels, and all this other nonsense. how you run a desperate campaign shows your true colours. he's knows he's in trouble, and it ain't pretty.

I personally believe that all levels of income should be paying the same percentage. But I also think saying the rich take all the risks is ludicrous. all entrepreneurs take risks, and those with less to gain and more to lose end up taking more risk than those with a fluffy bank account.

shark tank/dragon's den is a horrible example. those guys have money to burn, and they are investing pennies to drag a carrot in front of a donkey in search of a dream. most of which don't even come to fruition. they remind me of the Million Dollar Man in wrestling from years ago. Here's the money, now dance! it's a hobby for those guys and an ego boost to get celebrity.

Am I absolutely thrilled about Trudeau? no. I'm the same as you........in a way.....I'm not thrilled about any of the candidates. But I know who I don't want in office. Mulcair or Harper. And the Green Party has zero chance, and to be honest, I don't even know their platform this time out. Which I will research before I vote, but as it stands, Liberals it is.

as an aside, I'm not concerned about your level of respect for me. you want to keep personal shots out of it? then keep personal shots out of it.

new album "Cigarettes" out Spring 2025!

Interesting advance poll numbers in the Victoria riding (the riding next to ours) - more than three times the number of advance poll ballots were cast in this election compared to the last, and there were also very high turnouts in several of the other Vancouver Island ridings. Obviously a lot of interest, even passion, in this election; we may actually get a respectable voter turn out (and FYI I just read that our riding had a whopping 75% voter turn out in the last election, the second highest in the country).

It sounds like everyone posting in this thread so far intends to vote; I don't think we've seen any of the "there's no point in voting, nothing changes" nihilism that sometimes enters the American election threads. Get out and vote if you haven't already.
