I would really love to experience a tour in NA, could use some quiet for a change, a different way to enjoy a show. Conclusion: we´re all getting old

I haven't read all 75 pages so apologies if this has already been posted.

Is there any way the band would consider doing even just one Ten Club only show somewhere in Australia?

It would be an absolute win-win situation. There are very few fans in Australia who wouldn't travel for such a show, and given Australia's lower population overall, it would stand to reason that the band could do one medium sized show in say either Melbourne or Sydney (or my vote, beautiful sunny Perth!), and a massive chunk of 10c members would be able to attend. Certainly more members than in other countries could be included in the one show is what I am trying to get at.

Given that they will already be out here for BDO, they could do such a show a few days after the Perth BDO, make a tonne of money and make their loyal Aussie fans happy at the same time. Band gets easy money that doesn't interfere with their family holiday plans too much, and fans get a relatively intimate show. Win-win if you ask me.
win win indeed,but..if u was the one organize BDO and pay millions to pj to play headsline..u will let them do side shows?so all their hardcore fans go there and not buy your tickets at your festival??
they will not let them di side shows, they have contracts..sucks,but is how music intustry works
they will not pay millions of dollars and not sell out cos fan club memebrs want arena shows,
no one from fan base of pj will go to festivals,if there are side shows..its logic, they sign contracts they have the rights of the band and quarantee will not play other shows..
    sucks,but its how thing are

Pearl Jam headlining BDO isn't going to influence the ticket buying here in Australia enough to make a massive dent in the organisers' pockets. Big Day Out will sell out regardless of who is playing because the bottom line of that particular festival is that it's prime audience is teens and twenty-somethings who are there not for the music but to spend a day getting as shitfaced as possible, showing as much skin as possible in the blaring summer heat. It's basically like a nightclub scene but in the daytime.

I understand their contractual obligations regarding exclusivity, BUT if they did a show a week or so after the last show logic says that their exclusivity rights would be null and void at that point.

I also think you are missing the point of why people here are upset - it's not necessarily that it's a festival although there is a little of that. It's more that it's THIS particular festival. It's shit. If they had announced they were headlining something like Splendour in the Grass or any of the other better quality festivals it really wouldn't be an issue and I would be jumping at the chance. Big Day Out should have died in the late 90's - it's a far cry from the show it once was.

    Dear 10club,

Please release official HD Blu-ray video discs. It doesn't have to be widely available in stores. Just press to order, like you did for PJ's Washington '98 vinyl. Would be great to see some show's or even compilation HD PJ goodies available for purchase @ the 10club store.

    Thanks,

    D

I am very stoked to have received G.A for Oakland.
I have a dilemma, and a question. If the gates open up, say at noon.
And I need to find my place in the Sun.:), How am I able to go to the
Wishlist party @ 3:00 and still have a spot close to the front. I guess the
Wishlist Party is geared around those in Preferred Seating, because they can show up at will,
knowing they have a designated seat. Unless I have my Son save a spot LOL,
And hope to find him when I return. (That'll never happen)

    Dear Ten Club,

I am writing this in a severely upset mood and may calm down at a later time. However, at this moment I am extremely upset with the current ticketing policy. I have been a fan since the early nineties and have been a fan club member since 1996. I never expect to be given anything in life and work hard for what I earn. That being said I have given my unyielding support to this band, been to over 30 shows, traveled to other countries just to see Pearl Jam play, purchase merchandise, gotten a stickman tattoo and a green disease tattoo, etc, as many diehard fans have.

I have never not been able to get fan club tickets to a fan club show. However, this time around I like many die hard fans did not receive opportunity to purchase tickets because of your lottery. Frankly, I do not care if new members in the past did not get a chance at ten club tickets. Sure I got GA tickets to hartford, which was my first choice. However, I did not win the "lottery" for either Worcester show, which is in my home state. The ten club was built on the whole idea of seniority and now its based upon basically socialism and the people who have worked hard to maintain their membership year after year get shafted. What next? Discounted merch for new members as well? If this was the government might as well be passing out free food stamps to all the newbies too. Anyway, I kept my membership strictly for the access to the tickets. Now why bother? I might as well cancel my membership save the $40 a year and buy tickets thru a broker and still save money, if this is the current policy. Honestly, Pearl jam comes around maybe every few years so the extra money I would save on canceling my membership for a few yrs would probably be more than the extra money paid for ticket via a broker or scalper.

Additionally, the day tickets went on sale for Worcester they said tickets are unavailable and it still says this. However, the ticketmaster apple application says tickets are available. This is complete bull-crap. Everyone should have the same access.

if you want to queue to be up front, you'll have to miss the pre party. if you don't care about being in the front, just walk into the back of GA whenever you want to.

should you decide you prefer pre-party + a reserved seat, let me know and I'll gladly swap. ;)

To add to the list of complaints. It is absolutely ridiculous that today you "found" additional tickets for the second Worcester show, even though people like me lost the lottery for both Worcester shows GA and seating. Who is the bonehead in charge? He should be fired. This does not make sense.

Not at all. That would mean that newer members have more benefits than senior members. That is not at all the case. Senior members still have more benefits that newer ones because of the reserved seating selection... Just like it's ALWAYS been. That has always been the only benefit that seniority brought, since they even did that. There was a time when it didn't even do that. Also, it is not Socialism, but that line really made me chuckle, so thanks.

Depends on the venue, but the idea is that reserved seating is preferred seating, and the higher your seniority the better your seat assignment is.... Is that what you're asking??

Oh, you meant literally...well yeah, of course GA is in front of the stage. And then reserved is the sides and those with really low seniority will get stuck in the seats behind GA on the floor. Okay, so what you're really saying is that you hate GA?? There is a reason PJ decided to go in that direction. There are also plenty of members with lots of seniority who like GA. Can't please everyone!

Well, yeah... Kind of necessary for a GA pit. I have a feeling that the band was getting bored with the North American crowds (they have European and South American crowds to compare them to), so added a pit to mix things up a bit, add a little interest or change.

I wish the Ten/VHC never changed its policy on one pair per tour. If that policy would have remained in place, there would not be so much complaining.
The thing is... people that actually WON thieir FIRST Pick... are ranting on because they did not win their other picks. I won my first pick.. and i'm happy. I swapped my extra ticket with my girlfriend... who won her first pick. I'm in the 139,000 range and she's in the stratospheric range and we both got our first picks... as did a great number of the membership community.
My view is this... be happy for what you get because at least it wasn't diddly-squat. And a lot of our fellow fans won their first picks and it gives them the opportunity to see Pearl Jam from the vantage point I have had so many times in the past. I'm happy for them.

See... I'm happy for you. You have the opportunity to get an up close view of this great live band. You understand, there is no guarantee of your location at the gig... but, there exists the promise of a great view.
And yours is the story of many of our fan mates... this is a first time shot at something those of us, that have stuck around for a while, have already experienced... on numerous occasions.
I'm not one of those fans that 'collects' shows... or songs. Not that I'm knocking it, it's just not for me. I'm one of those each show is an experience people. I've seen the band from the front row to the rafters and it's all good. In fact, i was glad to be up in the 416 Section of Wrigley Field because i didn't feel like dealing with the hassles of the general admission and am glad I spent my time in that beautiful city, with my beautiful girl and our wonderful friends. I can only speak for myself in saying, I am more than happy to share. i never HAVE to HAVE something... other than the things i need... food, air, water... love.
If that is 'socialism'... sharing with others and a sense of selflessness... then, i suppose, i am a socialist.
Have fun at the gig and I hope you get what you a hoping for.

I agree 100 per cent. I'm not blaming the band, they are most likely unaware that the BDO is a traditional gathering place for drunken and drugged up teens and early twenty-somethings and the majority of their long-time fans - aged in their mid to late 30s minimum - can't fathom paying $185 to stand behind thousands of bogans calling for Better Man after every second song.

I'll be at home watching Immagine in Cornice.
Why do I love Pearl Jam? The answer is here
