i hope i'm wrong but i got the impression that shows will be GA with reserved on the side. which would then make my point about being pushed to the side. :PWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Not really.
I wish the Ten/VHC never changed its policy on one pair per tour. If that policy would have remained in place, there would not be so much complaining.
The thing is... people that actually WON thieir FIRST Pick... are ranting on because they did not win their other picks. I won my first pick.. and i'm happy. I swapped my extra ticket with my girlfriend... who won her first pick. I'm in the 139,000 range and she's in the stratospheric range and we both got our first picks... as did a great number of the membership community.
My view is this... be happy for what you get because at least it wasn't diddly-squat. And a lot of our fellow fans won their first picks and it gives them the opportunity to see Pearl Jam from the vantage point I have had so many times in the past. This POV is very refreshing and I appreciate it as I am considered a "new" member and feel very blessed to have been able to attend Wrigley and now Dallas for my first GA. Thank you.2003 Dallas

See... I'm happy for you. You have the opportunity to get an up close view of this great live band. You understand, there is no guarantee of your location at the gig... but, there exists the promise of a great view.
And yours is the story of many of our fan mates... this is a first time shot at something those of us, that have stuck around for a while, have already experienced... on numerous occasions.
I'm not one of those fans that 'collects' shows... or songs. Not that I'm knocking it, it's just not for me. I'm one of those each show is an experience people. I've seen the band from the front row to the rafters and it's all good. In fact, i was glad to be up in the 416 Section of Wrigley Field because i didn't feel like dealing with the hassles of the general admission and am glad I spent my time in that beautiful city, with my beautiful girl and our wonderful friends. I can only speak for myself in saying, I am more than happy to share. i never HAVE to HAVE something... other than the things i need... food, air, water... love.
If that is 'socialism'... sharing with others and a sense of selflessness... then, i suppose, i am a socialist.
Have fun at the gig and I hope you get what you a hoping for.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Is there any way the band would consider doing even just one Ten Club only show somewhere in Australia?
It would be an absolute win-win situation. There are very few fans in Australia who wouldn't travel for such a show, and given Australia's lower population overall, it would stand to reason that the band could do one medium sized show in say either Melbourne or Sydney (or my vote, beautiful sunny Perth!), and a massive chunk of 10c members would be able to attend. Certainly more members than in other countries could be included in the one show is what I am trying to get at.
Given that they will already be out here for BDO, they could do such a show a few days after the Perth BDO, make a tonne of money and make their loyal Aussie fans happy at the same time. Band gets easy money that doesn't interfere with their family holiday plans too much, and fans get a relatively intimate show. Win-win if you ask me.
they will not let them di side shows, they have contracts..sucks,but is how music intustry works
they will not pay millions of dollars and not sell out cos fan club memebrs want arena shows,
no one from fan base of pj will go to festivals,if there are side shows..its logic, they sign contracts they have the rights of the band and quarantee will not play other shows..
sucks,but its how thing are
Pearl Jam headlining BDO isn't going to influence the ticket buying here in Australia enough to make a massive dent in the organisers' pockets. Big Day Out will sell out regardless of who is playing because the bottom line of that particular festival is that it's prime audience is teens and twenty-somethings who are there not for the music but to spend a day getting as shitfaced as possible, showing as much skin as possible in the blaring summer heat. It's basically like a nightclub scene but in the daytime.
I understand their contractual obligations regarding exclusivity, BUT if they did a show a week or so after the last show logic says that their exclusivity rights would be null and void at that point.
I also think you are missing the point of why people here are upset - it's not necessarily that it's a festival although there is a little of that. It's more that it's THIS particular festival. It's shit. If they had announced they were headlining something like Splendour in the Grass or any of the other better quality festivals it really wouldn't be an issue and I would be jumping at the chance. Big Day Out should have died in the late 90's - it's a far cry from the show it once was.
I agree 100 per cent. I'm not blaming the band, they are most likely unaware that the BDO is a traditional gathering place for drunken and drugged up teens and early twenty-somethings and the majority of their long-time fans - aged in their mid to late 30s minimum - can't fathom paying $185 to stand behind thousands of bogans calling for Better Man after every second song.

10C Competition,
I've just opened my 10c newsletter email and got rather excited about the competition- trip to Seattle. But guess what, when I log in, this comp is only open to those in the US. Come on 10C what about the rest of the world.
I know This prize is a bit unrealistic to offer to everyone, but if you are running this type of comp surely something else should be offered to the rest of us- a signed T shirt maybe- we're not greedy - just annoyed0 -
I usually never bitch, but since you are solitciing feedback, here goes...
Ok so female jammers kinda get slighted a little with the choices of shirts. And then when there finally is a cute one, you only make about 10 of them. lol The Wrigley sweatshirt was the most adorable PJ shirt ever! I waited 4 hours in the heat for it and they said it sold out in like the first 30 minutes. WTF? I saw one on ebay and it sold for $175!! Please 10C can you make more of these for us female jammers so we can look cute and cool at the same time? Please and thank you.0 -
Great choice in the Wrigley women's "22" sweatshirt. Adorable!
Please offer it in the next round of Wrigley stuff! It's in high demand!
Thank you.2003 Dallas

Legit point here:
The whole lottery system needs revamped. The first 2 Pearl Jam shows I went to were in 2000 and 2003, and I had no issue getting decent seats through the fan club. Since then this whole lottery thing is a waste.
Instead of having people be able to get tickets to every show through the lottery, go back to having a limit. Some people can't travel all over. If I enter a lottery for Columbus tickets (Obviously not this tour) because I live in Columbus, but get shut out due to someone who won the lottery for their 8th show who lives in New York really sucks, so I'm stuck going through Ticketmaster and getting worse seats for more money, even though I've been in the fanclub for close to 15 years.0 -

My understanding of the lottery is that they go to 1st choices first and allocate tickets. If not all tickets are then gone they move to people who had the show as 2nd choice and so on through the choices until all the 10c tickets are gone. This means that someone who had a show as 8th choice cant get it over someone who had it 1st choice but someone who has selected a number of shows with lower demand could get a number of tickets while someone who only picks high demand shows might get none.
A number of people have made statements about people getting their 8th, 9th etc choice but has anyone actually found someone who got a ticket as lower choice where someone who had it as a higher choice did not? I havent actually seen this stated anywhere. I think the lottery is working just fine! For example....Im not aware of anyone getting seattle tickets who didnt have it as 1st choice, unless their 2nd choice was for reserved seatinig.0 -
I had a friend get denied 1st (reserved) & 2nd (Ga) choices for both Buffalo & Seattle. There has to be others with lower priorities to get tickets.0

According to the 10C lottery rules first round goes to those with priority 1. If there's tickets left after that the second round goes to those with priority 2 and so on...
Although this is completely fair, there is a loophole in this system that allows for people with a lower priority to get 10C tickets over someone with a higher priority. This has to do with the GA/RES ticket pools. Now it is possible that someone with priority 3 for RES wins tickets and someone with priority 1 for GA doesn't win any. This is why GA/RES should be a PREFERENCE and not a deciding factor.
EXAMPLE:
IF 10C has lets say 2000 tickets, than 1000 names should be drawn and tickets should be allocated according to preference (GA/RES).
Lucky clubber 1 wins 2 ticks and preferred GA.
Lucky clubber 2 wins 2 ticks and preferred RES.
...
Lucky clubber 813 wins 2 ticks and preferred GA but all GA tickets are allocated -> gets RES
Lucky clubber 814 wins 2 RES ticks...
Lucky clubber 1000 wins the last 2 RES ticks.
The choice between GA/RES shouldn't impact your chances on winning 10C tickets whatsoever! :nono:
I don't know of any clubber who would not take RES seats over... no tickets.Antwerp/London/Nijmegen/Werchter/Camden2/NewYork2/EVChicago1&2/Chicago1&2/
