    picture this. On a nice course in a beautiful part of the world.weather is perfect , as always. Playing a round by yourself. The group behind you starts yelling " got to go!! hey Chief, you gotta go!!!". You think to yourself, "fuck you guys, you're not playing through" Get set into your stance, and these same guys "CHIEF< CHIEF YOU HAVE TO GO!!!! while pointing the direction of the flight line. You turn to see a 500ft plume of fire and smoke.

    "OH shit, I do HAVE to go. Now what , do I take the cart to the scene? Or back to the station to get my command vehicle? Fuck it , I'm taking the cart. "

    7-8 hours later, you've finished overseeing the first crash ever of a B-2 bomber. Taken down by WATER!!!! Moisture in the sensors , gave skewed info to the computers and a fully fueled billion dollar aircraft crashes on takeoff. TOTAL LOSS.

    Thankfully two things happened that day.

    1. no loss of life and minimal injury.

    2. A legend was born in military fire fighting circles. The only Fire Chief to arrive at major incident in a GOLF CART!!!!


    This man is my brother.



    And he plays every chance he gets!!

    That is funny as hell but serious as well, thank god no one was killled. How was he shooting? Usually when something like that has happened, your having a great round going and then you got to leave.

    Ya know, I never asked him. I'll try to remember to ask him next time I talk to him. He lives in Guam, I'm in Ohio. Time difference gets in the way.

    so.....I'm mowing at "my" course. It's about 40 degrees, raining and miserable. I'm almost done....one more pass on this extremely steep, extremely pain in the ass hole to mow. This thing is so steep the mower can't climb it and crabs sideways when you try to go across it...plus, it's soaking wet. So, I come off an unused tee box (lower left) and I'm off on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The mower actually did a 360 before stopping at the edge of the lake. thought I was going in, for sure :shock: . whole new appreciation for nascar drivers.

    agreed! was out there Sunday but left around 4 or so. Weather was outstanding. Havent missed a TPC in almost 20 years :P
