Might be released today, waiting on the various transplant teams and surgeons to make their rounds.
Breakfast was pretty bad but hey at least it's solid food, and finally( as bad as it was ) a cup of coffee!

Friday , March 18th for the benefit in my and Kevins behalf, at the Inwood Bucaneer Clubhouse on Lawrence Avenue in Inwood ( 5 Townes ), Food will be served and it's BYOB, with raffles, and silent auctions as well as music. A good night with great people! Hopefully Kevin and I will both have. Recovered enough to both attend to be with you all,

My new kidney is working beautifully. I am making urine and my Creatine ( protein ) levels are below 2.2 .
The new kidney is tucked neatly away on my lower left abdomen and all the vascalature is connected to my left femoral artery.
The incision is clean small and crisp.They did a wonderful job, it's a miracle!

Home Sweet Home ! Great to sleep in my own bed, breathing that beautiful salty Rockaway air !
My new kidney is functioning normally, making urine, and maintaining a desirable Creatine level
( 2 ) which the doctors assure me will go down even further as time progresses.
My new blood brother Kevin is home with his sister and recovering beautifully as well. What a guy, to give me the gift of a dialysis-free life. No more cramping, no more shifting of fluids,no more sticking thick needles into my forearm and no more sitting anchored to that damn blood cleaning machine, 3 hours at a time 3 times a week .

I am on an intensive immuno-supression regimen.
Myfortic 2 pills, 2 x daily, 12 hours apart.
Prograf 7 pills, 2x daily, also 12 hours apart.
They want me to hold these back on the days I go for bloodwork, until the blood levels have been drawn, then I take the dosage .
Bactrum 1 pilll daily in the AM .
Mycostatin suspension to keep thrush out of my mouth and esophogus .
Valcyte anti viral 1 pill daily in the AM .
My usual insulin regimen for my diabetes.
Oh and of course theyve given me a script for Vicadins for pain management.
Again Id like to thank everyone for their kind words of support and prayers. There have been so many from here in the Pearl Jam community who extended themselves, I really really appreciate it all. Thank You.

at least the bactrum, mycostatin (ie sucking on chalk :think: ) & valcyte get discontinued after a few months
the myfortic & prograf take a bit of adjusting to...but it does get easier with time
Already suffering from Cabin Fever, cant wait to get back to work aready.
( but still feeling too weak )

My new kidney is alive and kicking ! Creatine ( protein ) levels have fallen below 2 ( 1.8 )
and we are producing urine regularly !
Life without being anchored to a dialysis machine 3 x / week is like being born again !
Im so very lucky to have such a great friend who selflessly gave of himself to me, at a time when I needed it most. All of my immediate family members were non- compatible, so my living donor Kevin really saved the day!
