    12-10 now Rox.

If we can win tonight and tomorrow, that'll put us 1 game back with an absolutely huge west coast trip. Was suppose to make the trek out to my buddy's place in LA for a couple of those games if I had the money. Wish I was getting out there. Damnit.

But ya know, if it does come down to ATL and Philly in that last series of the season, that could be a relatively cheap road trip...hmmmmm.....

dude, one of my boys is getting married on 10/2. If it comes down to that weekend and there are no TVs there will be no one at his wedding.

Wow I picked one hell of a game to see for the first time this year. Good game. J-Roll hit a homer to tie the game with 2 outs in the 9th inning. Howard gets ejected. I think Manuel got ejected also. Oswalt plays left  and first batter hits a ball right to him. Game goes 16 innings and well over 5 hours. Also got a Chooch bobblehead :D

Although i don't understand one thing. I know Dominaic Brown was announced as a pinch hitter, but then they decided to go with Francisco instead. So I'm guessing that counts as an AB since they didn't use him later?

yeah, once a reserve player is officially announced as entering the game he is unable to return. so the phils announced brown as a pinch hitter, the astros brought in a lefty, and manuel pinch hit for brown.

this is called wasting a player...it's one of charlies' favorite strategies.

giants just tied their game as well. they were also down 10-1 I believe. craziness

Yeah, dude. If he's smart, they'll embrace that shit as part of their wedding. They should rent a huge HD projection screen for it. They gotta know where priorities stand...

I'm betting Halladay is pretty disappointed with how that played out, but that's life in the NL.

this team is playing with their head's up their asses. way too many dumb mistakes. that's a reflection of the manager.

Wow, 6 pages in a day & a half. One business trip and I fall completely behind.

Phillies are playing like September Mets in this series. Two horrible pickoffs. Terrible at-bats. Lost tempers. Ugly.

Hey Fixer - so far, Cardinals 1-2 on Pitt/Wash road trip...

Nice comeback for the Rox - watch them go on another 20 game winning streak and take the wild card.

    so frustrating

and after bitching about not having his regular lineup for 3 months, 2 of the 3 games they are all healthy he doesn't start them together. brilliant move charlie.

Brown needs to play 2 games a week against righties. Werth needs to sit more. he has been atrocious since May.

Bone-headed base running all season long for this team. Maybe time for Charlie to get mad.

can't hit Victorino 2nd behind Rollins - too many poor at-bats back to back with those 2 at the top of the lineup. 8th inning last night Rollins, Victorino and monster-head Polanco all swing with the count 1-0? bad baseball.

Utley should be hitting 2nd. Fixer never mentions that his numbers have also been on the decline for 3 years in a row now since the Hip injury.

You can't fault the manager for these adults on the basepaths. He can't hold their dicks for them.

The problem is too many role players trying to drive the ball outta the ballpark - ie Rollins and Shane.

Polanco is the best 2 hole hitter in the league and they have to start treating him as such. Like Jimmy getting on base and stealing second followed by a hit and run. People gotta remember that this is like the tenth time that all these guys have been healthy. Hopefully they can get their shit together sooner than later. I will fault Charlie for not putting his everyday lineup out there, but it's early so we'll see.

And Utley is your best hitter on this team. Your best hitter hits 3rd and that shouldn't change with him.

    1 - utley isn't making 25 million a year

2 - utleys WAR hasn't trended downwards like the gorilla at first

    2006 - 5.7
    2007 - 6.6
    2008 - 6.6
    2009 - 7.7
    2010 - 2.6

Utley didn't have a good game last night. his AB when he popped out to 2nd with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out was key.

yeah, my 5-2 prediction isn't looking too good. doesn't really matter if the phils don't win though

at least kendrick pitches in a couple hours. that makes me feel a lot better

Agree with utley hitting 3rd. that's a no brainer. as well as polanco hitting 2nd.

I disagree with the baserunning thing. that is manuel's fault. he needs to hold these guys accountable for these dumb ass mistakes. when something dumb happens, put their ass on the bench (werth). he does that once and everyone takes notice. I'd rather see him burn a bench guy for something like that than pinch hit 2 guys at the same time.

frustration levels are high...they need to win today. still only 2 back with a win (braves are off)

quick question Fixer - is Utley near the same hitter he was before the hip injury? I don't think he is. he used to be a doubles machine, not so much anymore. Not trying to start a fight here but i see a decline in Chase since the hip injury. don't see the same stud hitter he used to be. yes he is still a very good hitter, just not an absolute stud anymore.

I hear you man. Did you feel this way in the World Series? I just think he's had a rough year. I also think it looks like he is swinging with one hand right now.

I always give him the benefit of the doubt because he's such a beast. Might be a lost year in 2010 and an important year for him in 2011.
