  • Looks like the lineup is set. I'm a big fan of Gardner winning the job. Reminds of a guy that would be on the teams of the 90's. One other thing...was reading Jeter is now leading off?? Not sure why...

Well it's not like Jeter doesn't have leadoff experience. In 448 games, he has batted .315 with 56 games and 215 RBI with a .389 OBP and an .859 OPS.

I have no problem with it. Just didn't know why Girardi decided to switch jeter damon around

I gotta agree with ya on that. I've always seen Jeter as a perfect #2 hitter driving the ball between 1st and 2nd with a runner on 1st.

Because Jeter hits into too many double plays.

I was at the Stadium Friday Night....its fantastic!!! I was in the 200's by right field foul pole.A friend of mine sat in the right field bleachers, he called me to come to him to check something out. The bar in CF cuts off your view for long balls into left field and vice versa???? Its improved out there...with beer :D and easy access to bathrooms. They have flat screens on the wall of the bar(regular season they will be live action) during the exhibition they didnt do the job. Just a heads up for people considering sitting there......for me I'd only do it if it were a playoff game and I had no other options.

Other than that it obviously holds true to the old stadium with a bunch of cool additions, bring cash!! $10 a beer, get hammered before the games.

    GO YANKS!!

you guys started off great last year only to fall apart. We have a bunch of slow starters on our team.

  • today was far too reminiscent of 2008. poor defense, shoddy starting pitching, too many walks out of the bullpen, boneheaded mistakes. Nady, why would he just give himself up. Run home, force a throw. he'll still be out 98% of the time, but just standing there will get you out 100%

Nady was left out to dry by the thrid base coach who had the signal on for him to keep going then by the time the third base coach (is it thompson?) put the breaks on nady had his head down running hard when he figured it out it was too late. I don't blame him for that, but i understand where you are coming from. I seem to remember a number of times last year the 3b coach not doing a particular good job.

It was very frustrating to watch a bunch of players who get paid a lot of money not play good fundimental baseball. I thought a joe girardi team would be better then that.

I anticipate they will play better but still frustrating.

Since this is not the year for my team, I'll just be happy if the Yankees miss the playoffs.

Here's to Burnett getting rocked tomorrow! (I'm just a sore loser from Toronto.)
  • We realize so far the 2 starters (cc/wang) have 0 ZERO strikeouts.
look like all around dog shit to say it nicely.

The first 2 starters have no strikeouts to start the season. I wonder when that happened last.

Good win today. Burnett got out of having a 3rd straight bad start from the starters.

and actually struck out a few batters.

good to see teixeira get some cracks... give him some confidence coming back to the bronx.

anyone catch bernie williams centerstage the other night? good interview, and the guy can play some pretty good tunes.
