And so the lion fell in love with the lamb...,"
    "What a stupid lamb."
    "What a sick, masochistic lion."
  • You're implying that I don't respect women, which is completely false. I don't respect people who make poor decisions and can't take responsibility for their own actions.
actions? Again... you imply an element of blame for being raped :( Is there ANY other crime which can be debated like this???
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

I doubt it was pleasant banter, but more along the lines of her holding the door open and him standing there pleading for just about any sort of sexual activity he could get for 15 minutes.

Thats what i said! maybe there was sarcasm in my post but i think you're 100% right. Indian Summer said the guy clearly respected her no's...i think if he had clearly respected them he would have left immediately as pointed out by soulsinging earlier in the thread

I wouldn't say that....but if they had a new car, and didn't get insurance on it...then I may call them dumb.

I think it's harder for some guys to understand cos they, presumably, are less likely to have been in that situation. I think there's a pretty high percentage of women who have experienced even someone forcing them to kiss them. It's not the kissing that's bad but when they don't stop and you're trying to push them away and there is a split second where you think 'I might be in trouble here' and that's bad enough but the guy's thinking 'it's just a fucking kiss, don't be such a prick teaser'. And yeh, it is just a kiss but she doesn't know where that's leading.

i think the problem with this OP is there seems to be a lot missing here. the thread subject is rape and she clearly wasn't. she is dodgy about how dressed up she was. it sounds like she exaggerated a few things for dramatic effect. which i can understand, i imagine she's rattled. but the story sounds like it doesn't need that. seems pretty clear she said no, and he persisted and kept harassing her before she finally forced him out. you don't need to dress that story up for it to be sickening. and i think that is what people are reacting to and i think any lack of sympathy from men has to do with frustration. it is very difficult anymore to know what is appropriate anymore. clearly, no means no, period. but a girl you dont know well invites you over to watch a movie alone at her house on a snowy night, she wears a sexy outfit, and the OP and some women around here are acting like he's a sexist, rapist pig for thinking she might have been interested in fooling around a bit? girls get angry when we don't notice their sexy clothing, and get offended when we do. i think that is what's going on here. i think everyone is glad she's ok, but a few people are a bit off put by the exaggerations and evasions and the all-too-quick-to-assume any man who would get that impression from this story is a pig, which is as bad as the assumption that any woman wearing a short skirt wants some dick.

If someone buys a nice car and leaves the key in the ignition in a seedy part of town I would think it served him right for being an idiot, no sympathy. As to comparing this to someone saying "no", well, there is no comparison. Granted, the op may have made a poor choice, hopefully she won't put herself in that situation again, because there are some sick fucks out there. Assault is never the victims fault, PERIOD. Peace to all out there, and to inhiding79 saying SHE feels sorry for the guys with the way some girls dress sending out the wrong signal, get a fucking life, ok.

Apparently I'm the only one that read this above quote. Unless she wears high heels and a skirt to take out the trash, I'm guessing she was dressed comfortably. And even if she was dressed "provocatively" (whatever that even is) it still is never a reason. WTF is wrong with some of these fucks on here?!?!?
