What do you think of it? I read it a couple of months ago."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -
Just finished one of my favorites of all time
American Pastoral by Philip Roth
Started Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger and the first story I was blown away (no pun intended).
Also reading A Widow for One Year by John IrvingGo Get 'Em Tigers!0 -
Ms. Haiku wrote:Running with Scissors was the first memoir I read that I didn't trust the author was telling the truth. The way the doctor told fortunes almost made me throw up. That is a messed up book. I wouldn't try to stop someone from reading it because so many people liked it, but I wouldn't recommend it either. The time reading that book could be spent reading something where the truth or fiction didn't flow like waves throughout the book.0

Just bought it, but i haven't started it yet.
Love this book! He's a one trick pony in fiction but it's a good trick. His nonfiction is awesome! His story about Marilyn Manson is great!Go Get 'Em Tigers!0 -

Great book!
Had to read this for school.
Memoirs are not my cup of tea by any means, but this one was OK. Authenticity is always a question. She writes like a reporter though which made the book a bit more difficult to read through in terms of interest.Go Get 'Em Tigers!0 -

Just finished "The Chris Farley Show" last night. I would recommend it for anyone that was a fan. Obviously, its sad, but it does provide a lot of insight into his life.
Its written in an "oral history" type format with excerpts from interviews from family, costars, friends, etc."If you love someone, set them free... if someone loves you, don't fuck up" - EV0 -
Marian Keyes "This Charming Man" .
I love her books!!0 -
The Picture of Dorian Grey…it’s a devastatingly slow read.I'm the only Hell Mama ever raised.0

just a tad dull because of how he words stuff. but i like it. i'm halfway thru. i don't know if it actually how it was or just how he has things in order but Eric is a band whore. lol. i'm only 29 and didn't realize how many bands he's been in.*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0 -

I bought that along with some other books with a birthday gift card the other day. I think I will read it next. I read a book about the history of SNL that was an oral history and I enjoyed it."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -

I really enjoyed it. I thought the end dragged. Let me know when you finish it and I will tell you my problem with the end.
One thing I would have liked if there was more insight into the songs, recording, etc. After reading it and listening to his greatest hits, I realized there were a lot of songs I don't recall him mentioning at all."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -
