I've always loved the Showbox version. Oh to have been one of the lucky few down in front of Mike that night.............
  • each time I listen to this album, the more I like it. It is working exactly like binaural did for me.

    Indeed, it's amazing.

I love Mike's outro solo. It's beautiful. I always felt like All Or None was SOOO close to being a great song, but there's just something about it that keeps me from connecting to it.

Wierd I wonder why that is. I really consider this one of their best songs on any album.

I don't know. I've never really been able to put my finger on it. Something about it just feels distant to me.

If you compare it to Thumbing My Way, which to me has a very warm, real feel to it, All or None sounds almost haunted and other-worldly, like being in a fog or a weird dream. In that sense it's great, but sometimes makes it harder to find something to really latch on to.
  • I am Mine is such an awesome song. One of my favorites
  • I love all of the live versions on "You Are" that I've heard. It's just an incredibly cool song live. Ed seems to really dig the "funky" vide and always ends up kinda half-dancing to it. I'm not a huge fan of it on the album, because it's one of those songs that is SO MUCH better live.

Does anyone else have love for 'You Are'?

Just got this as a PM.

    "In honor of you...
I went out and bought Riot Act (AGAIN). My copy was lost and I didn't bother to pick another one up because I had decided it was the suck. Long story short, Can't Keep comes on and instantly reminded me how much better PJ is than any other shit on the radio is. I still don't like it as much as you, but being away from it for years now (that's embarrassing to admit) I've come to appreciate it. Thanks for your persistence.

    Cory
    Forward Message"

    Fuckin' sweet. :D

    great stuff.

I have a professor who teaches a history class and is ridiculously biased and has an agenda when teaching, and every time he speaks I think of this line "don't see some men as half empty, see them half full of shit" and "tell me lies...".

Four years ago this most precious album was released. Riot Act will definitely get at least one listen at my house today.

I see the mods have been doing some "house cleaning" around here, and don't want this thread deleted so giving a little bump.

As of late, Help Help and 1/2 Full have become my two favorite songs on this album. I think they're just awesome. When Help Help gets for the chorus, oh man, just sends chills down my spine.

My absolute favorite from this album is All or None. Just a gem.
