twenty years later and this is still my least favorite album.  I am mine and 1/2 full are the standouts to me,  the rest are meh.

When I first heard RA in 2002, I thought it was boring, slow and depressing. I was like where is the rock, the anger, the fast songs? I thought maybe I had downloaded the B sides or something. If you guys remember it was leaked early on the internet and heard it a few weeks before it was released.
Then after a few spins and listening to the whole record in order, it’s a beautiful record with some incredible moments. I think thumbing my way might be one the best songs in their catalog. Mix in save you, can’t keep, LBC, green disease, I am mine, 1/2 full and this thing is fuckin magic. One of my fav albums, underrated and the 2003 tour was one of their best if not their best .
I had the same experience. Riot Act was one of the albums I was looking forward to the most after seeing the band for the first time in 2000. I was underwhelmed and enjoyed just a handful of songs. Save You, You Are, I Am Mine and All or None in particular. Now I appreciate the album more, but it took a long time to get there.

I caught the band in Perth in 2003, great show.

This album is very rewarding once you connect with it.  Brilliant lyrics, guitar, drums, and Boom!   His contributions here are great.  That organ flows thru nicely and gives this album a soul / blues vibe.   Very cool.

It's as cohesive as Dark Matter in the aspect of flow, and similar sounds and concepts throughout, and also the way McCready enters with the smooth solos.
