Cheers to you. About half way done with my first. It's awesome. I dig it.
I really like it as well. I'll be finishing the rest of my 12 pack pretty quickly once I start drinking again.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

This weekend hasn't been very exciting... a lot of cleaning out the cupboard:
finished my Saint Arnold's Christmas Ale supply, had a few Saint Arnold's winter stout, and broke out a 6 month aged Saint Arnold's Centennial dark version (if you haven't guessed already Saint arnold's is the local brewery in Houston - and oldest in the state of Texas)...
the winter stout was quite good, however the christmas ale is as it always is, and the Centennial isn't any better at 6 months than it was fresh (we'll see how it is at a year as well )
also had a couple of DFH Indian Brown and a couple of Fat Tires....
so all in all a not to exciting weekend... however the gf has given me the green light to purchase that extra fridge I've wanted for aging beer... so things are on the up and up! Gonna pick up the fridge tomorrow....
I did purchase a 4-pack of Dark Truth Stout thanks to 81's mention... there's 2 in the fridge now, hopefully i'll try them later the week... has anyone had their Double Wide IPA? got a couple bottles of that as well....
really rotted when i went into my beer store on friday mid-afternoon and I saw a DFH Immort Ale tag on the shelf and there was none left.... I got an apology from the head beer guy at the store for not saving me any... however that doesn't really make me feel any better...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
Today was day six of my current alcohol sabbatical. I really wanted to drink something today watching football. If Hopslam arrives here this week, I'm going to have to make an exception and drink one.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

My #1 drinking buddy and I try to drink everything we can get our hands on at least once and while I tend only to purchase the higher end stuff he will pick anything and the damn rules state that if one of us buys it the other one must drink. We that bastard shows up last night with an 18oz Old English for me. Of course, there's nothing craft about that swill at all, but it actually wasn't as nasty as I feared. But that could be because I had 3 Boston Lagers at that point
This isn't craft either, but we had San Miguel Negra Lager from the Philipines over the weekend and that was some pretty tasty stuff.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
Picked up a case of Ruthless Rye last night, I can't wait to try it this weekend. I try not to drink during the week. I also picked up sixers of Founders Reds Rye PA, Founders Dirty Bastard and Kona Longboard PA.
Alright, alright, alright!

be careful with that dark truth
i saw the double wide...but didn't pick it up. they ahve some other ale that was like 10%+ i'm thinking of getting that next time
On the menu tonight is Long Trail Hibernator and Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale.
edit: this scotch ale "wee heavy style" is excellent

What are people having this weekend? We are in semi-transition mode from Winter beer to Spring beers it seems...

Right now I'm sucking back a Double-Wide IPA from Boulevard... according to the label it's "twister proof"
definitely a solid IPA effort there's a little sweetness right at the beginning of the mouthful, and finished with a big bitter hop taste for a single IPA... actually I'm reading that it's a double... which makes more sense.
good beer, I'll definitely try again... can barely feel the 8.5% abv...
tomorrow night it's on to the Dark Truth Stout... and probably one or 2 more of my Saint Arnold's Winter stout...... so friday night = stout night...

I'm still on the Hopslam kick. I'm looking forward to Ruthless Rye on tap tonight.

I'm being told Hopslam will arrive here within the next two weeks. I guess I'll have to jump off the wagon for a taste. It's just too good when it's fresh for me to pass up.

Had Sierra Nevada Tumbler for the first time last night...pretty solid I thought but nothing that blows your mind.
Had a bottle of Rogue John John Hazelnut the other night...it improved as it warmed to me...the rum barrel aging imparted a fairly heavy alcohol taste but it seemed to lessen as it warmed
Aside from another bottle of that and the voodoo doughnut maple bacon the fridge is a bit bare right now so I'll be stocking up tomorrow...unless I can figure out a reason why I need to leave work early this afternoon..... :?:

I am hopeful this year will be the year we get shit straight here in Mizzip. It seems Raise Your Pints is gaining momentum and is getting a lot of national support so maybe its coming....check it out...and if you've got any political pull throw it these guys' way

The Dark Truth Stout was pretty good... I will definitely be buying more...
on tap for the Skills Competition tonight is Ruthless Rye, and Laguntis Slightly stupid ale...
friday = stout night
saturday = IPA night...
I'd never heard of hopslam before a couple of posts in here the last few days...
was overly disappointed yesterday when I was talking to my beer rep to learn that Bell's and the TABC don't like each other very much... so no Hopslam in Texas ....

There is proposed legislation that would raise the ABV peak from 5.9% to 8.9%....it would still be lagging but that sure would open the door to lots of stuff we can't get here as it is

I wasn't impressed very much with alpine spring either. But of the 18 or so SA's I've had it and the cherry wheat are the only ones I wouldn't really want to have again...pretty good percentage

Love this stuff. Has anyone tried the Terrapin Moo-Hoo yet? I liked it, but so far the Southern Tier is the best I've had.
Grabbed a case the other night and I really loved it. Will definitely be grabbing some more next time I hit up the store

I saw it in my beer store the other day and passed cause it sounded too much like champange from the description...
love to know what it actually tastes like...
Tasty but not worth buying again. Basically just champagne with a beer taste.

Poured a bottle of DFH Chickory Stout into a crock pot of roast beef and it was delicious.
I found a place in the Poconos that had Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale on tap
Same place also had Sam Adam's Alpine Spring Ale and it was not so good. It tastes like pine needles.
