see.
when you commit to the run good things happen. mccoy---20 carries, 99 yards and the game winning td. i liked how they went right back to him after the fumble. they didn't have many other choices but usually big red would stay away from him and the run all together after a play like that. this was good. you can tell the o line got into a nice rythm tonight and the run had a lot to do with it.
solid effort from both sides of the ball. even with all the injuries, i think the defense looked pretty good. special teams teams still is giving up too many yards. sav rocca stinks.
i still see us ending up 10-6. gotta take care of the skins at home next week and the falcons after that....then off to the meadowlands for another sunday nighter.
like what i saw tonight....www.myspace.com0 -
oh yeah....and this was a 4th quarter come from behind win for mcnabb. lot of noise about that stuff last week  :thumbup:www.myspace.com0

Huge win. If we would have lost that would have been bad because the Bears would be tied with us and have the tie breaker. The conference win was what we needed. Vick actually showed up, allbeit for 1 play. Defense played well offense played steady. :thumbup:8/28/98- Camden, NJ

really? :wtf:
what was your problem with the play calling? 21 runs, 32 passes seems just right to me. i think that was one of the better called games we've had all year, if not the best.
and other than the 72 yard run, the bears had about 45 yards.www.myspace.com0 -

The win was big,but still hate the play calling. Mccoy was running strong especially when weaver was in lead blocking. And are run defense needs to get it together. Bring on the skins.
You're absolutely right--the play calling was lousy. I hate the short pass on 2nd or 3rd and 10+....it didn't work all game...bring Vick back in and let him run thru the Bears defense! And, our defense wasn't good either, but at least they made a big play at the end of the game to get the win.Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

I felt like the calls were just off--wrong plays at the wrong time, something just seemed not right and I didn't like it (how's that for an explanation  boo, me! )Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

Not satisfied with this win at all, but then again I have no idea what the fuck to think of the NFL this year... Dallas barely beats Washington, KC beats Shittsburgh, etc. etc.
And whoever thinks our run D sucked tonight doesn't know what they're talking about. Yes, the past couple of weeks sure, but other than that long run by a nobody they dominated the line of scrimmage. It was one play.
With that said, this win means nothing to me nor shows me anything about this team.Post edited by Jearlpam0925 on0 -

i don't think it is acceptable!
no, i think there was a big stretch during the 2nd and 3rd quarters where the play calls were not great and we just were not playing well. but you have to admit that is nitpicky. i mean i think they two big keys here tonight were to score some points early....CHECK....and stick with the run game....CHECK.
all in all, this was a huge win and i am very encouraged by what i saw. beat the skins and we're 7-4!

how can you not be satisifed and think this win means nothing to you? i don't get that at all.
they scored a touch down early for the first time in weeks.
they committed to the run for the first time in a loooooooong time.
they stopped the run.
despite injuries they were pretty solid on d....though they should have had a couple more turnovers.
shady mccoy had a breakout game.
donovan finally had a 4th quarter come back.
i thought we would win more convincingly but the bears were fighting for their season too. and, other than the last few weeks, this game was actually pretty damn exciting all the way through.
gotta keep it going next week though...www.myspace.com0 -

i know i'm not good at explaining, but the last few games, tonight included, our zone D has been crappy--we've let a lot of first downs happen bc the defense is playing too far off...we need to either play a tighter zone or better man to man or something, but I feel like there are a lot of plays that could be made IF our defense makes those slight adjustments.Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

I wanted to give McCoy a big hug after this game :-) And, McNabb for finally launching the ball accurately...geesh, about time!!!Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

If cutler had any accuracy we'd of been in trouble. The back to back over throws to olsen and hester was huge. And then to one to knox i know the d is banged up but the olsen play gocong bit, then samual did. And knox just beat the whoever was covering him. As for the play calling early in the game shady was running strong and reid and marty went away from him,and thats about the time we stopped moving the ball. We beat a bad team and didnt look good doing it. A wins a win but we should have beating a bad bears team badly.Go Birds!!!!0

Look, a win is a win. I get that. But Reid doesn't learn from his mistakes until his back is up against the wall. WHY does it take to be on the brink of the edge to have a sense of urgency?! I'm just sick of the consistent mediocrity - then again, I guess that's the definition of mediocrity.
And remember something, Chicago STINKS. Cutler has taken many, many, many steps backwards. And personally I think him and Rivers are the biggest douches in the NFL - that's even excluding Romo. Chicago doesn't have an O line, cannot run the ball, and do not have any established receivers. This is like every other win this team has had against sub .500 teams(all but 1 of their wins this season) - they tell me NOTHING.0 -
you guys realize the steeler lost to the chiefs today right?
did you see the bengals lose to the raiders?
did you see the cockroaches score 7 points on the redskins?
come on people. contrary to some peoples opinions, this is still a mediocre league all across the board. you have to look at this team in the context of this league.
it was an ugly win but there are a lot of positives as i have already laid out. i mean lets be honest here, this is the eagles, other than '04 we always win ugly.
trust me, we will look back on this game as the turning point of the season. it's the kind of win that builds confidence and momentumwww.myspace.com0 -

I think I referenced the bold above already. All I'm saying is let's not start sucking each other's D's just yet.
Anyway, I'm beat, take it deep.0 -
