I'm also excited that I'm in Hawaii...and Sunday is my birthday...AND the game will start at 800am for me!!!!!!!!
Hawaii ?!?!?!?! Shit I'd be excited too !
When we were in Mexico on our Honeymoon the Eagles were Playing Dallas with a Spanish Broadcast team and the Broadcasters would refer to McNabb as "Señor McNabb"
you forgot about MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Nothing like having some Kona coffee at 8am watching the Birds from me absurdly amazing room...go me :-)

i'm sure there are some on here dissapointed we did not win by 50 points today. but, another solid win for the birds.
i'm really liking the balanced attack. leonard weaver is an absolute beast.
the defense keeps getting better and better.
and for all of you saying "yeah yeah yeah....they haven't beat anyone"......i encourage you to open your eyes and take a good look around the nfl this year. the team we should have dismantled last week? yeah, they took the saints to overtime. the pathetic raiders team that we lost to? yeah, they beat the defending champions in their own backyard. this is the nfl in 2009. there are about 2 or 3 great teams and bunch of other teams a notch below who, if recent history is any indicator, have a great shot once the playoffs start.
this team is clearly moving in the right direction. wouldn't surprise me if we won out. realisitically i see us at 11-5 with a division crown and hosting a playoff game for the first time in 3 years.
confidence levels are high. all aboard ladies and gentlemen. this train's leaving soon.....www.myspace.com0 -
Great game defensivly! Offense should have put more points on the board. they were in the red zone like 4 times and only came away with one touchdown and 2 field goals.
Also how about dem Cowboys!Like what they do best in December, LOSE!

all 3 offensive tds were in the redzone. akers missed a field goal ending their league leading streak of consecutive scores from that area of the field actually.www.myspace.com0 -
jamminpearls wrote:The Jeagler wrote:jamminpearls wrote:I think there's numerous reasons why people aren't excited about the Eagles right now. First being they are right about where they should be maybe a game less even(oak). Secondly people have seen this story many of times before and know the ending already(d-mac chokes in the clutch) and Reids poor clock management costs us another game we should have won. Next is they haven't exactly looked impressive in there last couple of wins, barely beating chicago and a beat up skins team was harder then it should have been. I understand we have injuries as well but we have so much talent on this roster that we should be 8-3 or 9-2. I feel that once this team beats a good team in a meaningful game then people might have a little more faith, but right now talking to friends and others NO ONE believes this season will be any different. I'm still hopeful that we can get hot and actually run the table, time will tell. GO BIRDS!!!!
lotta young talent on this team to get excited about man....they've rebuilt right under our noses.
now if they can only get healthy...
Young talent is nice but a new coach and qb in the near future might be the answer. Im rooting this team on don't get me wrong but far from excited right now. Im still screaming every sunday at the tv and ill always be supportive but im just alot more realistic now.
you were done with this team a few weeks ago weren't you? 8-4 looks pretty good. not the best team right now but playing pretty well even though banged up. Hopefully get a bit healthier on defense and going to be a tough out the rest of the way. Beat the Giants and Cowboys and division is ours.0 -
jamminpearls wrote:I would never give up on the eagles. And i wouldnt be suprised if they went on a run like last year. But i do think its time for change and there are many good coaches sitting out there at the moment. Andy Reid is a damn good coach but his way wins games not titles. D-Mac is the greatest Eagles qb ever but he wins games not titles. And i know u have to win games to even sniff a title but its the same story with the same ending. I will root for this team like they are 9-0 but in my opinion think that even if they make a run and make it to the superbowl next year change is needed.Go Birds!!!!0

never have i understand the age old argument of "you cannot win a championship with so and so."
if that's what you believe, then what's the point in watching anyway if you are so convinced the ultimate goal will never happen? makes no sense to me.www.myspace.com0 -

If that was the case there would be 5 people watching. I have come to this point after years and years, but hope i'm wrong. I don't have a crystal ball just an opinion of a fan who has been with this team my whole life. I love the birds and will always support all my teams,if they shock the world ill be right there cheering them on. If they come up short ill still wear my eagles gear. Go BirdsGo Birds!!!!0 -

i dunno man...i've seen waaay too many bad eagles teams (and just bad teams in all sports in this town) over the last 30 years to feel like you do about a team that gives you a legit shot at winning it year in, year out.
it's the same old story about philly fans not appreciating what they have until it's gone.
might as well enjoy it. this is our best team since '04 and i think we'll be even better next year...www.myspace.com0 -
I agree with The Jeagler. It is why I get so frustrated sometimes reading and hearing all the negativity about the Eagles and Reid and McNabb in particular. I lived through the Marion Campbell and Rich Kotite years and it was horrible. Yes it sucks that Reid and McNabb haven't won a title yet, but the run they have been on here is something that should be a hell of a lot more appreciated than it is. They both just win games year in and year out. I honestly believe we are going to win one in the next few years with these 2. With the young talent on offense, still a great QB there is no reason why it can't happen. It is much easier to be 7-9 or worse consistently in the NFL than being between 9-7 and 11-5 every year like Reid and McNabb have given us.0

ANDY REID = GREATEST EAGLES COACH EVER
DONOVAN MCNABB=GREATEST EAGLES QB EVER AND HOF IMO.
Now i agree this run has been great and have enjoyed watching a good product for years. I too remember the bad seasons and they sucked. And i would hope for nothing more then a superbowl for Reid and Mcnabb. I know the grass isn't always greener on the otherside. I have far from giving up on this season, but i feel like this is the same movie i've seen like 6 times now and stupid me keeps hoping that for a different ending when i own the dvd. Jeagler and hawks i HOPE your right trust me,until last year i would have never actually thought like this but sometimes 2nd place is as good as u can get.Go Birds!!!!0 -

don't you see lots of hope in the young offensive talent though? as good as the previous 10 years have been they've never had this amount of good young players on offense. It was pretty much Westbrook alone for so many years except for 1 year with TO. This receiving core has a real good chance of being the best in the league down in a year or two.0 -

so right when these young bucks are turning into stars on offense, you want to get rid of someone you consider to be a future hall of famer for a guy who had a good game against the chiefs back in september?
that does not make any sense to me. donny mac has been asking for weapons his whole career. he's finally got them. this is the most talented offense he has ever played with. and he's having one of his best seasons.
i say extend him for another 2 or 3 years.www.myspace.com0 -
I hear both sides of the argument on keeping McNabb and Reid..I'm torn on what I want
The lean years were terrible but getting close and not winning it all is just as frustrating to me
You hate to see a Coach and QB that have been together for so many years and can't get over the hump it would be nice to finish the deal
Reid is not going anywhere and we really dont know what we have with Kolb so to not resign McNabb could be a disaster as wellMy drinking team has a hockey problem
The ONLY thing better than a glass of beer is tea with Miss McGill

looks d jack will be on the field next week. we're gonna need him. i think this is gonna be a tough one for us.
i see us going 3-1 the rest of the way. wouldn't surprise me if this is our loss. not that the ginas are better, it would just be a season split which is what i thought coming in.
if we win though...i think a lot of people riding the fence with this squad will jump in with both feet...

Eagles signed head coach Andy Reid to a three-year extension through 2013.
Reid, 51, has never won a Super Bowl, but has the highest regular season win percentage (.614) and most wins (105) in franchise history. While some fans are frustrated with Reid's playcalling and time management, it's a good extension. "Big Red" has kept the Eagles in contention since taking over in 1999.
