A little strange I should see this thread at this moment.
We had to put down my cat today. He had been suffering for a while now and no medication or operations seemed to be helping. Had him since he was a few weeks old and lived to nearly 17. Slept on my bed almost everyday for most of those years. Miss ya Dax
the other day I guess my Distemperfried kitty ran out of water, cause I came home to a meowing toilet.. The lid was down and Tommy was braced inside the bowl just crying and shaking.. I guess he'd crawled in there to get a drink and knocked the lid shut on himself..But none the less.. I'll never forget that meow..LOL

So sorry to hear this. I'm sure he lived a good life with lots of love, 17 is a very honourable age for a kitty.

Take some comfort in knowing that you have your beloved Dax a wonderful human to spend his 17 years along side him. I dread my Tommy's day, just cause he has been with me through so many things. Just know, we are all here to help you get through this tremendous loss.
I meant to reply to your post yesterday, Twilight. Sorry about Dax....that is a long life for sure but it almost makes it harder since he was with you so long!

Thank you for your kind words guys. I'm heartbroken but we did all we could and he had a happy life. It will be strange going home without him around.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Both my boys sleep in bed with me most nights, and it would be weird for them not to hog the covers any more. :( Just take solace in the fact that you made him happy in life, and I'm sure he's grateful.

This is Danger:
My parents heard him crying on their porch November '10 ... couldn't have been more than 8 weeks old. They live in a subdivision right next to farmland, but no one was missing any kittens or had cats that were pregnant or recently gave birth ... so who knows where he came from?
And this is Batman:
Got him from a shelter three years ago when he was about two. He's fairly timid, but I prefer to tell visitors that Batman's not scared of them but is instead just lurking in the shadows ... waiting ... watching ...
i've heard people mention but never actually visited the site yet. Will check it out later
Kali normally doesn't like stuff on her, but she was kinda out of it. Took her to the vet the day before for yearly vaccinations/rabies shots. So she wasn't her normal self for a day or two :(
