Hey kitty owners! I've got a question and it may be a strange one.
Do your cats ever show interest towards grapes? :? Cause Nauhuri does. It's not that she wants to eat them, but she really, really wants to play with them. As in paw them around. She will also carry grapes back to me, should I toss them somewhere. (I had to try. :P ) And will as a result, of course, have them in her mouth. That breaks the skin so the grapes get a little slimy quite quickly so I have to take them away.
How weird is this?"Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -

I haven't had them put grapes in their mouth, but think of it. Grapes are soft and squishy, and roll around if cats bat them with their paws. Some characteristics in common with certain prey. One of my cats will totally play with grapes if they can.
Sian, where did you get that cat jacket - I have a cat who over-scratches sometimes too. Did you make it?R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

Thanks for your reply.Yeah, I'm sure not all (or many) cats would carry grapes in their mouths, but Nauhuri is one of 'em fetching kitties, so she'll carry a piece of crumpled up newspaper if someone throws it.

pretty funny. I rarely eat grapes, not sure how my cats would react to grapes.

Aww, Lizard, your kitties are growing up all gorgeous.
For a mainly chicken drawing guy, Doug Savage is pretty good at capturing the essence of kitty behaviour.http://www.savagechickens.com/2010/09/c ... res-2.html

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Sian-of-the-dead wrote:Rita - In response to your last post on the last board, alas no, we won't be taking my cats or Dave's cat when we move. Dave's cat lives with his Mum in Lincoln and my two darlings are living with my ex and his family. They're all happy where they are and I wouldn't want to upset my ex's children by taking their kitties away.
We're making an appointment to go to our local Cats Protection League adoption centre on my birthday to look at adopting a pair of kitties to call our own
Actually, on that note... The Cats Protection League, at the moment, have lots of FIV kitties needing homes in the UK. FIV is the feline equivalent to aids but isn't dangerous to humans. The kitties live long happy lives and don't normally need much extra care... they just can't go out. FIV is passed from cat to cat in breeding, fighting etc so to keep it contained, FIV cats need to be kept inside.
If you're a PJ fan, reading this and living in the UK, please consider it. The Cats Protection League have lots of these beautiful pusscats at the moment as they often get over looked. My parents had two FIV cats for years and they were both really loving and happy. Please, if you live in a flat or aren't so keen on the idea of letting your cats out, consider an FIV cat.
Dave and myself considered it but in the new house we have two big patio doors and a back door with a large, cat friendly back garden... it wouldn't be fair. We are however, planning on taking on a pair of cats. This is another problem for the Cats Protection League as again, people don't feel they can take on two cats and don't want to split siblings up.
If you are looking at getting a new cat, please consider these two options. There are lots of kitties across the country (and world infact!) that need new homes and a second chance.0 -
And here's to the kitties.. My kitties are the poop.. I love them, and love that they sleep on me.. lmao My distemperfried kitty Tommy greets my car although he thinks it really wierd now that the wolf-dogs have passed on he's all alone when he greets me..But he's a living miracle really he's that one silly cat that even though he got his shots, he STILL managed to contract Distemper and now he's what they call Shadow Blind .. which is where he can only see shapes and movement no definition or color anymore. Poor kitty you move things in the house and he freaks for days.0
