I recently took my cat for a somewhat long car ride for the first time since I adopted him. I went on vacation, and drove him 45 minutes to my Grandma's house so she could watch him while I was gone. He freaked the hell out. I had him in a carrier, and he made these horrible wailing noises, so I tried taking him out. He didn't cry as much, but he peed. In between cries, he does this weird panting thing.
Does anyone else have this problem, and do you have any good tips to ease my kitty's travel anxiety?

i took home this one cat i adopted and all she did was whine/cry the whole time in the car. Once I got home and took her home she stopped. Unfortunately the cat didn't work out. She hid for 3 weeks and wasn't really getting along with my other cat so brought her back. Was allowed to bring her back from the adoption agency if anything was wrong within a few weeks.
Isn't there a pill or something that helps cats with car trips? i thought there was. My cats haven't been in the car that long (most about 15 mins.) they are ok when it comes to car trips though.

I've had the cat for about 10 months now, and he's a great cat. This is the first issue. I've never heard him cry like this before. They were deep, throaty sobs. He peed in the car both ways. I assume it was fear. He's due for his first vet appointment with me in about 2 months. I'll probably ask about it then, since he'll definitely have to go for some more car rides within the next year.
Ok fellow cat owners, I'm in the market for a new litter box. I would like one that isn't too expensive (under $50), relatively easy to clean, and is great for controlling odors.
Your cat's diet can effect their poo too. If you feed them a high quality diet like say, science diet, it will make them poop a lot less because lower quality foods are mostly filler that they just have to pass anyway. So you might want to look at they diet you are feeding them.
You should the same number of litter boxes as cats you have. This will cut down on over loading of the box and the cats becoming territorial.
I use Fresh Step multicat. It does a good job of keeping down odors but it is a bit dusty.
the other day I guess my Distemperfried kitty ran out of water, cause I came home to a meowing toilet.. The lid was down and Tommy was braced inside the bowl just crying and shaking.. I guess he'd crawled in there to get a drink and knocked the lid shut on himself..But none the less.. I'll never forget that meow..LOL
