guys .... how can you claim a 6 or 8km walk is not exercise ... when you walk with me you walk fast - my kids jog to keep up .... you have a hard time talking (although, i still do, but id prob spend my last breaths on saying something ) .... but you can not tell me that is not a form of exercise .... its not resistance, it doesn't elevate your heart rate to the state that a cardio circuit does, but it does work you ....

    perhaps you guys stroll????

  • 50 minute run. Felt great legs are back. I was a bit tired the past 2 days after traveling 12 hours in the car within a 26 hour window.

One more run before Sunday's triathlon.

Water is going to be cool but that will only make me swim faster.
  • did the mother of all non workouts today

walked to gym about 45 minutes
evaluation session with my pt (basically tells me had bad i have done)
45 minutes on the cross trainer at maxium resistance (only did 1.98km)

now please tell me that i did not exercise :D

Oh noooo....Im not getting involved in this walking debate again. And I didnt bring it up either :o

As Manly will be gracing the tv tonight in the semi's I will be leaving work early to start sinking beers and scream like a girl. Due to this I will need to attend the gymnasium at an earlier time. So today Ive decided to do a spin class on the bikes. Only ever done it once so should be interesting.

My goal...last the whole time without getting bored.

My tactic to do this...park behind a good arse...and peddle :?
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

or perve on the hot female instructor  but that is only usually fun for a few minutes. to pass the time I usually keep asking the instructor for more climbing tracks, or if i am in rpm can we just keep doing track 5!

and the screaming like a girl will that be at wolfman? or will it be coz wolfman is on the tv coz he's so sexy. More so since he lost his beard!

  • walking bishes!

    - anyone can do it
    - improves your lipid profile
    - increases lung potential (deep breathing..)
    - promotes muscle/bone growth in kiddies
    - encourages muscle flexibility - walkers are less likely to stack it
    - good night's sleep
    - psychological benefits

easy for gym junkies to downplay walking.. haha!

depends how much you want out of it..

i've upped stomach crunches and am unable to laugh this week..

Righto did the spin class....all she did was gradients and then fast and slow section. Weird sitting on a seat that long. Music started shitting me after 30mins so I piked.

Finished with 5mins of power to give me ammo for beers this weekend

    10burpees
    10 chin ups
    4 sets
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    40kg thrusters
    24" box jumps
    chin ups

    Sets 10 to 1

Been a while since Ive done 40kg thrusters and I must say I wont be doing them again on a Monday. Complete arse rippers they are.

    Tough one for a monday
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
  • Great triathlon yesterday.

    2:54 was my finishing time.

1 mile lake swim in 38 minutes

22 mile bike in 1 hour 15 minutes

6 mile run in 54 minutes

    Remaining time was transition.

I hit all my goals, finished strong, stay calm in water, and finish under 3:30.

Looking forward to my next one for I know I can do better in the swim, biking, and transitions.

Running that's my about my max at that stage in the race.
  • theoceansmademe congrats on the triathlon.

    for me

sunday: went to go for a run, did about 1km then walked another 9
monday: other than walking to and from work I did SFA
today: walk to gym and a 45 minute spin class, music bored me after about 10 seconds but I the class was still amazing, awesome instructor

Good luck with that back. I have been there and it SUCKS. Took me 18 months of no running, which was a huge psychological hurdle to get over.

But thankfully during this dark time Into the Wild was released, played it daily.

Hang in there and like eddie said "No matter how cold the winter there is always a spring time ahead"

Sore back too Zig!?!?! :o Yes must stretch

Oceans you are an absolute legend and should be terribly proud of yourself. Good on ya

    2000m row
    21 x 30kg thruster
    21 chins
    15 x 30kg thruster
    15 chins
    9 x 30kg thrusters
    9 chins
    2000m run

I sucked shit today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know why but Im really lacking in confidence at the moment and its fucking pissing me off.

I should be doing 40kg thrusters and go pretty close to getting all the 3 sets out in one go. Instead I dropped the bar after 12 on the FISRT set. My chin ups Im not extending the entire way down and hence putting pressure on my upper back.

Take away the row and run and the workout above is called ‘Fran’ which Ive done several times over the years and have a best time of about 6 or 7 mins. I reckon it took me 15 today.

Really down on myself. Not sure if Ive lost confidence or fitness
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

Talking about throwing things.......I just picked up my keyboard, backhanded it 5 feet across the room into the fridge and all the keys came off (well most) thats how hard I threw it :o

    Its still works tho

Im a little worried here.....Ive never felt so aggressive/frustrated in my life. I either need a root, a smack to the head or just a new day to begin  Think I better jog home and sit on the couch tonight. No interaction with humans could be highly advised

DonJon.......this isn't like you AT ALL! Did it feel good throwing your keyboard? Do you actually feel better?

You need sex......sex is always the answer.....or also the problem...depends how you look at it. ;)
