Swimming 2 x per week, 1 mile each time or sometimes more depending how busy the pool is
Some Saturdays - perhaps twice a month - go hiking across country for 2 or 3 hours
I'll wait for the darker nights to start drawing in this Winter and then I might also give running a try (not doing it at the moment as it's too light and people can see me!!)
London Brixton '93 / Reading Festival '95 (w/Neil Young) / London Wembley '96 / Manchester '09 / Boston, Newark, MSG2, London Hyde Park, Rock Werchter, Bilbao '10
20 minute stretch/workout:
- 30 sit ups
- 30 push ups
- 30 leg rolls
- 20 squats
- 5 lunges each leg
- 30 straight leg raises (each)
- 30 toe out leg raises (each)
- and other shit like plank etc
My plank is getting much better....everything is getting much easier....
I've been doing 30 reps in a row.......would it be better to do 2 x 15....and then up it to 3 x 15 or is it okay to just do them all in a row?
This morning:
I've been doing 30 reps in a row.......would it be better to do 2 x 15....and then up it to 3 x 15 or is it okay to just do them all in a row?
If you can increase the reps, it would be beneficial...and more of a challenge for your body. Also, adding any weight to some of the exercises would be good too, if doing 30 reps isn't as much of a challenge (adding weights to your squats, or ankle weights to your leg raises) feel the burn :-)
Right there are too many new faces in here for me to congratulate everyone by name but good work team. Glad to see lots of new faces. Train hard fight easy they say
So is there any difference between doing 3 x 15 reps with a 30 second break (or less) in between OR 45 reps straight? Is it either way better than the other?
Maybe up your weight if you are doing 45 reps in one go. Lunges and that sorta stuff are fine to do 50 reps in one go but any major weights (aka deadlifts, cleans, curls, etc) do lessor reps of.
Eg sits up do (say) 25, then break for 30 secs do some more etc
1-2 days/week 45-60 minutes of kickboxing or jogging
3-4 days/week 60 minutes of cardio & strength training intervals (little bit of everything - lunges, squats, deadlifts, tricep, bicep, shoulder and back work, pushups, twisting & walking planks, etc. etc).
On days I'm rushed for time I do the 30 day shred - mastered level 3 a while back so just upping the weights a bit. It's a great workout for limited time.
was waking up at 5 am to fit in my workouts during the summer...that's the only good thing about summer coming to an end - my work hours change and I can sleep in a bit more!

today so far I walked to the gym and did a 45 minute spin class.
question: I am having trouble staying strong with my diet at the moment, any one got any tips that might help?

good work!
-for brekkie, try a low GI cereal
-there are tricks to portion sizes - use a small bowl/plate - the visual does help - no room for overfill and seconds
-snacking - i have no advice, i eat too much shit haha.. put some nuts and apple slices in there..
-see what you eat!!! don't eat out of packs - put it in a bowl and suck it up with the washing
-as for seconds.. give the brain a bit of time to catch up at dinner time - so don't eat too fast, it'll say 'hey dude i'm full' before you reach for seconds..
-don't eat too late - not because it's harder to lose but because you'll sleep better! sleep = important..
i didn't sleep well last night
try to cut out the soda and booze.. i'm off of soft drinks now unless a charming young lad buys me a bourbon and coke for which i cannot pass up
to be on topic.. i started my day with some speed rope
4*13 deadlifts (60,70,80,90kg), only managed 10 at 90 kg
3*16 sqauts front dumbell raises (eight each arm @ 20 kg)
3*20 lunges with cable hold

2 x 15 sit ups
2 x 15 leg curls
3 x 15 push ups
20 x squats
5 x lunges each leg (these kill me and not getting any easier)
25 x toe straight leg raises each leg
25 x toe out leg raises each leg (fuck these are hard)
20 seconds holding plank
Yep....my plank lasted a WHOLE 20 seconds. I'm so sad! lmao
In the past 4 days I've walked home from work once (10 mins) and have done no other walking/jogging. :? Been getting home really late after dark. Been eating really well though.
Now, to define my arms should I start doing low weights...? Seems my core, legs and back are getting a lot of work but not my arms.

This is interesting -- I knew it was better but not that much better! Got this from the www.realage.com website. I love that website!
Is chicken that much better for you than meat? You bet. Compare a broiled skinless chicken breast to a broiled sirloin steak, with the fat trimmed to nearly nothing (a mere 1/8 inch): Ounce for ounce, the steak has a little less protein, about a third more calories, and four times as much fat, half of it saturated. Go chicken!
2 x 15 sit ups
2 x 15 leg curls
3 x 15 push ups
20 x squats
7 x lunges each leg (these kill me and not getting any easier)
25 x toe straight leg raises each leg
25 x toe out leg raises each leg (fuck these are hard)
20 seconds holding plank
Abs really felt it today.....feels good too! And I'm already getting much more flexible and my balance is waaaay better. And my clothes are still getting looser and looser. Oh yeahhh! Give me another month and I'll be saying "bring on the pants" ---- and I'm not talking about Illegal Pants either.

not if you got out of you way to go for a walk it is exercise!
for example if i walked to the tram anc caught that to work that would not be exercise, but instead if i walked to work instead of catching the tram that would be exercise as it is something i would not normally do.
alternatively you could claim that about all exercise, i.e. lifting weights could be not considered exercise due to the fact that we lift items of some weight everyday, (i.e. slab of beer, shopping, etc)
tonight i will be walking home
edit: sorry guys had to claim i did something today!

Attended a wedding Sunday and drove back Monday. Tiring indeed.
Ran tonight @ 6pm, which I never do, always workout before noon, and I paid the price. After 3 miles I was done.
Going to get to bed soon and try again in the AM.
4 days until the triathlon.
