Man I gotta get back on the kettle bells. I worked with them with a trainer for over six months but then he quit the gym where I work out and haven't used them since. Bah!

Cycled 58.5 miles on Saturday in 92degree heat with high humidity. Plus there were lots of hills and I had a headwind the last 25 miles or so!!!! I bonked at mile 43 or so and had to pedal oh so slow the rest of the way. I coasted down all the hills and stopped twice in the shade. It took forever for me to cool down. I guess we had a cooler than normal July so I was not used to the temps plus I wasn't feeling good when I started.

Yesterday I ate pizza for my workout.

This morning 1,000 yards in the pool. This evening 20 miles on the bike.

Ugh. Rough weekend travelling, birthday, and no grocery shopping forced me to go to a deli for lunch.

4 days of sloth. Gotta pick it back up tomorrow.

Anyone doing that p90x? I run a lot, have long work days M-Th, and dont have time to commit 7 days a week for it.... but I work a couple of the routines in.

I recommend trying some. Especially the ab ripper routine. Pretty good stuff.

I have a friend that was doing it. He also said it was good stuff. I might try some after triathlon season is over.

Did some strengthening with hand weights yesterday morning at home.

Yesterday evening 50 minutes on the Cybex Arc (I think that is what it is called) at the gym. It is the only thing that doesn't seem to irritate the stress fracture. Even the elliptical bothers it a little bit.

This morning 2000 yards in the pool.

This evening 30 miles on the bike.

I am still here and kicking just not running. I swam 2500 yards this morning in the pool - two minutes faster than last week!! I was supposed to ride 30 miles last evening, but the wind was awful. I could hardly hold my bike in a straight line so I only did 15 miles, but it felt like 30! My stress fracture is finally getting better I think. I am walking without a limp for the most part, but still taking lots of ibuprofen because it hurts at night in bed and at may desk (strange). Anyway, I will be testing it this weekend and next weekend in Chicago I guess. Two Pearl Jam shows with lots of standing and lots of walking around Chicago. I tried jumping the other night while watching Touring Band 2000 and I couldn't. So this concert will be weird unless my left leg can do all of the jumping!

nice donjon sounds like a fun morning.

    pt session this morning

    4*18 lat pull down 50kg
4*18 chest press on a swiss ball 37.5kg (failed in last set and only got 12 i think)
    3*15 bent over row
3*8 push ups, but only doing the lowering part over 4 seconds

tomorrow i hope to run 15km first time in a few weeks, given up on doing melbourne marthon this year, will see how my leg holds and if it does i will do the half marathon instead

Good to hear the stress fracture is coming along ok Riverrunner and a great way to test it out...at a Pearl Jam concert ;)

Real tough one today and it took me an hour. The runs were the hard part

    800m run
    30 x 24kg kettle bell swings
    30 reverse grip chin ups

    5 sets.

Smashed the swings. Last set of chins I was doing 5 then breaking for 5-10secs...do another 5

    Pretty good effort today
4km run and 150 chins and swings. Tough gig

Yeah was a good one today mate. 5 of us did it together and I only finished around 3-4mins behind Matty who came 8th in the Crossfit Games so I was happy with that.

There are two new trainers over there who got talked into doing it as well. The look on there faces when I busted out 25 chins straight out in the first set , dropped, took a breath and did the last 5....was priceless

They didnt think me scrawny little body was up to it. I finished 5 sets and these two chaps were still just starting to run their last set (of which a set was taking minimum 11-13 mins. Left em for dead

AND my treadmill did not go below 11 the entire time....90% of it on 12

Im a hard task master on myself but today was good to compare myself and where Im at

Yeah it helps big time having that motivation as you'd know.

Honestly if I had if trained on my own today i would have done probably only 3 sets.

I trained on my own for a while about 6 months ago for a period of 2-3 months. When I started back with the boys I was left red faced. Keeping your breaks to nothing means doing it 3 time s week minimum

I ended up pulling out of the Sydney Tower run last week coz my feet were sore. Shame coz I reckon I was going in around 14 mins or so.....next year
