nice work, i try to walk or run whenever I can. Last week I did a 2.5 mile walk/run along the water in Queens.

We will be in Chicago for the concerts in August. I told hubby I wanted to do some open water swims in Lake Michigan. The websites say that there are several beaches that allow endurance swimming. It looks like they have special areas set up where swimmers can just swim. We have wetsuits, but would probably rather not drag them along. But I guess the water is cold there all year long, but tolerably I imagine.
Do you or have you ever swam at the beaches in Chicago?

Yeah, more worried about the chemicals, viruses, bacteria than the waves/cold..... I think. I'm not good in waves either. Unfortunately a wetsuit doesn't protect you from the germy stuff. I noticed that the websites have warnings when they think the water is too contaminated. But I wonder if their standards of contamination are as high as mine. But then again I have done some triathlons in some pretty nasty water.

3 times this week I biked 40 minutes on the stationary bike, including today. That's pretty cool for me. Once I feel my legs are strong again, I'll take it up a notch and start to run.

Nothing special for me today....just gonna do some light cardio and maybe some leg and stomach....my shoulders are busted from my cleans the other day. Aint been so shoulder sore for years.
I've been swimming and biking. Although not as motivated since plans for the Half Ironman are down the tubes. I go back to the Orthopedist next week with an MRI to see if he can figure out what is wrong with my shin/ankle and fix me! I've also been on the elliptical machine and an arc?? machine at the gym. But I dearly hate being stuck in the gym in the middle of summer!!!! I HATE IT!!!! O.K. I will quit whining now.

ran a mile..did a 5 part supperset with just 95lbs. chopped wood on the cable then went to a barbell and did bent over rows, standing military press, good mornings and then squats. 12 of each 3 times. that was brutal.
then some hanging knee raises and jackknifes
then sprints til i couldnt run anymore...or walk really
