    Worse.

At least Crawford was an All-Star.

Upton has the potential to be an All-Star, but he plays like a dog too much. He's wasting his talent, though he's still young(28 i think), so MAYBE he can turn it around?

the only thing to hope for if they get him is that the ol' change of scenery does the trick. get into a better clubhouse, yada, yada, yada...

Great - if the Mets ever got fans again they would get a MEL-VIN chant going.

What a shame. Totally nullifies his great All-Star season.

like the lopez trade. lotta strikeouts, not a lot of walks. late inning guy. i think this is a good move.

upton to the braves. kinda glad we didn't overpay for him.

hamilton? bourn? i think i'd still like to see them go the angel pagan/cody ross direction....unless they can somehow swing a trade for the other upton...

not the biggest fan of Fowler's but still would do either of those over trading Lee for Justin Upton. i think small tweaks like those moves are better than any big moves at this point. as much as i like Justin Upton if you trade Lee you are putting even more on halladay's health and i'm not convinced halladay is going to be dominate again.

For what it's worth, I don't think either Upton would end up playing out all that well in Phila. Those guys are better in places like Phoenix and Atlanta with more "relaxed" fan bases.

First time I've been on here in a while. Not banned, just tired of arguing with people who I don't respect. Focusing on work, which has paid off with a monster raise this month  . Looks like I will be moving the family over the next few months, which is all good.

Funny that the same people who loved the bynum trade are the ones panning for ellsbury. Same. Exact. Thing. At least the phillies can't trade their first round picks.

Keppinger just got 3, 12 from the chisox. Dude would have been perfect here. Now this team is going to end up with a turd like mark reynolds at 3B and my head is going to explode.

I don't want any part of hamilton. I think they are going to severely overpay and end up with bourn. Apparently they are back on Swisher, who's a complete tool, but would fit nicely in their barren OF (why they released schierholtz, who was their best OFer, is beyond me).

Missed out on Soria and Madson as well.

I would love Justin Upton. And I hope they move worley...don't even care what they get for the RH, tool version of Happ.

Just another typical Amaro offseason, sans the horrendous overpay (which is inevitably coming). Can't wait til he gives his aging catcher a big contract extension.

Never thought I would miss ed wade and lee thomas. Sadly, that's how bad this clown is at his job.

Also, ryan howard married jeff carter's sloppy seconds. Fact.

You can't make this stuff up. What a loser. Poor girl has awful taste in pro athletes

sucks to give up may but this guy is under team control till 2017 and makes peanuts. possibly our cf and leadoff hitter for next 5 years... gotta be another shoe to drop. swisher maybe?

    http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/ ... rom-twins/

Phillies acquire Ben Revere from Twins for Vance Worley and Trevor May

When the Twins traded Denard Span last week the assumption was that they did so in part because Ben Revere was ready to step in as their new center fielder and leadoff man, but now they’ve traded Revere to the Phillies.

Todd Zolecki of MLB.com broke the news and Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com says the Twins are getting right-hander Vance Worley and pitching prospect Trevor May in return.

Minnesota has an incredible lack of quality pitching throughout the organization and one area where the Twins have good depth is the outfield, where former first-round pick Aaron Hicks could be ready to become the starting center fielder at some point in 2013. Revere is very fast and very good defensively, but he has zero power and a fairly limited overall upside, so if the Twins feel Hicks will be ready soon anyway it makes some sense.

Revere has tremendous range in center field that more than makes up for perhaps the worst arm in baseball and he’s capable of swiping 50 bases at a good clip, but he may never hit an over-the-fence homer and through age 24 he’s hit .278 with a .319 on-base percentage and .323 slugging percentage. For years he’s been compared to Juan Pierre, for better or worse.

Worley missed the final month of the season with an elbow injury that required minor surgery, but when healthy the 24-year-old right-hander has a 3.50 ERA in 278 career innings with a solid strikeout rate of 7.7 per nine frames. Long term Worley is a mid-rotation guy, but on the Twins right now he immediately becomes their best starter. Barring more trades, of course.

May is a 22-year-old former fourth-round pick who spent this year at Double-A, posting a 4.87 ERA while racking up 151 strikeouts in 149 innings. He has control issues, but May was a top-100 prospect coming into the season and has 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings for his pro career. Minnesota wanted young pitching and they definitely got it

Well that wasn't much of an endorsement for Revere...

Hope May doesn't turn out to be a stud. Not worried about trading Worley, but I appreciate the stuff he did for the team.

Why cause he's 36 and it's for only one year? Or cause he had a bad year last year? Or was it the players we traded for to get him?
