While our ballpark is on the small side, it's not the joke that is Yankee Stadium, that allows routine fly balls to RF to be home runs. It was smart, I admit, for them to sign Ibanez, knowing he hits the ball to that place all the time. Would've been a terrible signing for the other 29 teams.

So first Raul Ibanez won with a walk off homer the other night. Last night it was Jayson Werth. I'm thinking Jim Thome tonight. :corn:

It would be nice to see Thome do something like that. I could care less what their teams do, but good for Raul and Jayson. Is there anyone on the Phillies that can have an at-bat like Werth's? 12-13 pitches then a walkoff.
My joy for Raul left as soon I saw Jetta and Afraud celebrating Raul's homer.
    Alright, alright, alright!

314 to RF. I seriously think my high school field was bigger down the lines.

do agree with pjhawks though. was glad to see ibanez leave, but he's a guy I like to see do well

I'm pretty sure he's guaranteed a hearing for 2013...then can become a FA after next year.

almost positive you're stuck with him for minimum of one more year.

They are just a bunch of pussies. Fuck the Cardinals. Go beat them all 3 games in front of their stupid fans. And Holliday will have some stupid excuse whenever they lose.

I don't have any love for you guys, but the Cardinals - they are a bunch of ass holes.

I've never seen a guy use his arms to grab the 2B's leg on a take out "slide."

If it makes you feel any better, we were all excited when the phils got him too. took us a few months to figure out that he really sucks.

have fun paying him in arbitration this offseason :D

how many other guys can hit a ball 3 times in one at-bat??

I know how it feels when your team blows a 3-1 lead (another sport), and I'm very happy the Cardinals and their stupid fans have that feeling today. :D

I especially enjoyed seeing carpenter get rocked in game 6 (WTF was matheny thinking leaving him in so long?? it was obvious in the first inning that carpenter had nothing). Just wish that version pitched vs the phils last year.

herndon claimed by toronto. martinez removed from the 40 man. Time to start prepping myself for the inevitable disaster that is another amaro offseason.

Well, well, well fucking well. How about this shit?

Shit just opened next to Frankford Hall

    http://www.phillyphoodie.com/2012/10/fette-sau.html

With this right around the coner as of recently

    http://www.bubbastexasbbq.net/#!

Not going to make it there over the next couple weeks, but hoping to spend a day drinking massive beers at Frankford Hall and eating massive amounts of BBQ at these spots. Hoping for 2 weeks from now.

That area is blowing up. So much shit right there now.

Just talked to a good friend of mine who heard thru the grapevine that utley doesn't have knee issues. He was told from someone in the know that he's addicted to painkillers.

My initial reaction was 'shit that sucks'. Guess it kinda speaks volumes that I don't doubt this could be true

Not sure which is worse...pill addict or bum knees

God I'm bored. hopefully this dumb storm blows through without much damage and I can get back to work on Wednesday.

Gonna really suck ass if power is out for an extended period of time. Can't they put these power lines underground? I'm no engineer, but that makes all too much sense to me

I guess I will see what kind of beer is lying around the fridge.

I picked up a case of Fegleys Imperial Pumpkin. 9%. Expensive and probably not worth it, but I don't have many complaints. Not bad for a pumpkin that strong.

might be a dumb question, but what does it mean when beers are labeled 'imperial'? see it all the time....imperial stout, souther tier 'imperial' pumpkin.

Good question. I could very well be wrong but I don't think there is anything anymore aisde from alcohol content. I think it has some historical context but now brewers typically label higher alcohol beers imperial.
