so the dontrelle willis experiment has come to an end

For a lefty, I hope that dude Jake Diekman comes up at some point. He looks like the perfect lefty you want out of the bullpen - now if he can actually do it in the Majors who knows, but I'd like to see him up.

    thank god

agreed on diekman. now hopefully podsednick beats out gay pierre

Also, New Orleans > Vegas. This city is fucking awesome (except for the smell). Only my second time here but I think it's cracked my top 3 (NYC, chicago)...SD or NO, I love them both. Jumbalaya is incredible. So are crawfish. And gumbo.

    What a great fucking weekend

Grabbed one from Fast Eddie last year, wearing his Penn suede jump suit.

And as for New Orleans. Yes, definitely better than Vegas - and I sure love my Vegas.

Fixer, if you're still there, and haven't gone, get to Mother's.

I'm beginning to think we may have seen the last of The Man - Chase Utley.

That knee just doesn't want to get healthy

There is a hole in my heart waiting for Chase to come back.:cry::cry: Never saw another player bust it the way Chase did.

As much as I dislike the Phillies, I am a baseball fan through and through and the two players on the team that I like are Utley and Hamels. Just sad stuff. Hate to see a player that good have issues like this. Those 5 years, he put up some really serious numbers. I can't imagine he is going to be able to play the game the way he wants again and that blows.

And, actually, Utley I'm the least concerned with - they said Chase would take it slowly, and that's exactly what he's doing. People just like to get their vaginas in a knot and want something to worry about. Personally, I think Utley is fine - for what he has(the knee issue) - and they're just in absolutely no rush to put him out there. This is the same guy that had an inside-the-park HR, 6 triples, and 14 steals last season. I just think it's a matter of not having him wear down and go through losing 15 pounds over the course of a season like he's done in the past. I put Chase at like 130-ish games this season, .280/.360/.450, barring any serious injuries. I just think it's overblown. He's taking fielding and batting practice, just not in games as of yet.

    umm nope

I also think there's a chance Chase may be done. I don't see Ultey being Ultey and i don't think he can live with that.

no, not with the revenues being generated and a windfall of TV money coming down the line in 3 years. may take a short term step back but not fall all the way. one of only 3 teams with winning recoreds for 10 straight years. don't see that changing even with the current injuries.

philly.com is so bad. i know we've discussed this before. but lately whenever i try to access the sports section it takes me to the sports page from a week or two ago. does this happen to anyone else? i've noticed this on multiple computers.

the top story right now is bryzgolav setting some shutout record.

yeah, but sometimes it takes more than money. what your guys did in 2008-10 reminds me of the 1988-90 A's....the dynasty that wasn't.
