Whoa, Derek Trucks is part of that band? Awesome! Didn't realize he was still with them. I guess back in the day his dad used to play with them?

I don't know anything about the Allman Bros except that my dad wouldn't let their limo past a restricted gate at the airport in the 70s.

Driver: But we're the Allman Bros.
My Dad: I don't care whose brothers you are.

Never been, rarely make it to that hood. Heard good things though. JP probably knows more, think he lived in that area at one point.

Yeah, this place was right up the street from me, but yet I never step foot in there. Don't know why. I guess anything to do with Grays Ferry anything - even just the street name - turns me off.

And if anybody reeeeally wants a bottle of Faithful Ale(though I'm starting to wonder why since it's worth nothing more than to hold onto a last minute bottle of beer named in PJ's honor), the Craft Ale House in Limerick are serving them up at $20 a bottle.

I thought they were awesome for the first half. Then that 25 minute drumming thing (4 drummers???) came and I was getting pretty bored. I really enjoyed Derek Trucks but sometimes the show seemed a little fluffy.

    What did you think?

Good to hear, at least for the beginning. I enjoyed it. I could listen to Trucks and Haynes play the guitar all day though and I really like them. I have seen them half a dozen times probably. This was a good show. Drumming was probably a bit excessive but they always get into some jams with the drums.

Good job by you. Awesome place. Used to go there a fair amount. Menu's limited, but it's all top notch. The shrimp po' boy is ridiculous, as is their burgers, mussels, and chicken pot pie.

I'm taking off a few Fridays in a row and maybe next week we will go to Pete's Sake - still meaning to get there.

I really want to try Resurrection's fried chicken - that's pretty much why we're going there.

Definitely. Especially considering you're right fucking there. Yeah, most likely same deal. I don't see the tradition of 2 street dying/changing any time soon for me. And with the Eagles blowing my asshole, probably going to do the parade during the day as well.

Yeah, I wish I had that problem right now. But oh well. Mimosas, bloody's, beer, and bacon at 10am instead....well, all that would be the same...minus the stupid fucking Eagles game.

Well in a couple weeks, there's a pretty good chance I may not have that problem either and that is not a bad backup. I would just add whiskey to your list and you just got me fucking pumped.

Fried chicken is one of those things I talk about all the time and only actually eat a few times a year - kind of like cigars & ribeyes.

I hear you, I don't eat it very often. I have a lot more cigars and ribeyes than fried chicken. I love that shit though.

Popeye's maybe once a year. My wife hates it, and that limits the trips too. I'd probably go there once a month if I were single. I'm sure the kids will like it when they're bigger, so she might be getting overruled a little more often.
