unfortunately its looking like it's priced all, or most, of my friends out. i don't see how you can do this without dropping at least a grand up there. just about everyone one of my friends are either cheap or broke. not a good combo.

I just saw 334 for a pair, so 167 for the weekend? And if I go I'm gonna do the camping route.
How do you see it as expensive? Do you mean staying at hotels and what not?
Vegas was everything and more. Good times had by all. Did alright gambling, except for at the sportsbook, but lost most of my money on booze and the spearmint rhino.
i guess camping is cheaper but none of my friends want to do that.
i was thinking of minimum $300 for flight, $167 ticket, then we were thinking of either getting an rv, renting a house, or getting a hotel for 3 nights....that plus everything else that comes with a weekend like that (booze, food, etc etc etc) should put you around a grand or so at least.

Neither am I really, but I like to do the Philly Folk Fest in Shwenksville and that's a good time. I don't get why they couldn't do something like that - road trip, camp out on the same grounds as the show.
I have a camper that I'm going to have to seriously consider going that route. Google says the drive out is about 13.5 hour drive, so I gotta weigh my options. I already looked into some of the campgrounds and a couple of them will have shuttles going back and forth to the venue.

It just sucks that this event out of all of them - the one event you'd think we'd all be pumped about and would make happen no matter what - is just poorly planned from about every logistics standpoint.
