nice of the cards to give the phils a run.

unfortunately that's the only way this team can score.

the one armed flail is out in full force tonight

earliest for utley is friday. victorino should be back tomorrow I believe.

Even so, that's not enough. Too much AIDS in the lineup and bullpen.

No way this team is winning 100 games

oh boy here we go again.

would you really be upset if they didn't win 100 games??

plug a couple all stars in the lineup, pick up at a bat at the deadline, i don't see how they won't be fine. i could care less about a 100 games (i'm assuming your kidding about that).

I was kidding. Some here said 100 wins easy :? (I'm on record with 93)

I agree with you...just upgrade the offense and win the division. I'll take my chances in the playoffs with their rotation. Long way to go. Hopefully this is the low point of the season. Just find a way to get to playoffs

I don't think Utley will make a major impact this year. I have a bad feeling about him for some reason. This Beltran trade makes sense as long as we don't have to give up a ton. Shit there better bringing up Joe Savery then playing that stiff in Rf. Calling Dom Brown get the FUCK UP HERE NOW.

utley at 80% is better than a 100% valdez and orr combo. that will help.

    a healthy victorino will help.

keeping dane sardinio a minimum of 30 miles from the ball park will help.

plugging dom brown in right and letting him sink or swim while platooning ibanez/franciscos/mayberry in left should help too.......plus i've assumed since the winter, that we'd upgrade one of the corner spots at the deadline.

they just need 3 to 4 runs a game with this rotation. pitchers are giving up about 3 runs a game. obviously the last couple weeks have been rough but for the year they are averaging 4 runs with all the injuries. get some guys back, you have to figure that will increase.

It's time for my periodic rant on how managers have been programmed to not use the closer in a tie game on the road, preferring to lose the game with the shitty 4th & 5th relievers instead. Fucking closers- I hate the whole goddam concept.

he sure as hell should have brought Madson in instead of Romero. need a strikeout there. Madson was your best option even if it left you with no closer. Can't believe Baez is still in the majors. i guess his contract means we keep him around but sucks. losing streaks like this happen, especially when your top pitchers don't come through with leads late in games, thus why i was annoyed earlier in the week. could see this coming a mile away. this team will be fine as long as the pitchers stay healthly. oswalt looked much better than antipated last night. was good to see.

    Not even worth a reply.

I know there have been similar conversations about the lack of offense in 2008 (this year it was the inconsistency) and 2010, so it's not time to panic. We'll get it fixed.

still best record in the league although that is precarious at the moment. either way i think i've seen enough of Ben Francisco. How come it's the guys that annoy you the most that never get hurt or miss games? definitely went through same issues/feelings about the offense last year. just need some tweaks for this team.

The latest interrogation technique for the CIA is to force al Qaeda members to watch 100 Jimmy Rollins popups in a row.

haha thats pretty damn funny. jimmy has more weak outs than anyone. he kills me because just when i am ready to explode with him he will get a big hit like he did in florida. should be a 6th or 7th hitter on a good timie but with this team right now not a lot of options.

    it's not cheap.

unfortunately its looking like it's priced all, or most, of my friends out. i don't see how you can do this without dropping at least a grand up there. just about everyone one of my friends are either cheap or broke. not a good combo.

I just saw 334 for a pair, so 167 for the weekend? And if I go I'm gonna do the camping route.

How do you see it as expensive? Do you mean staying at hotels and what not?

Vegas was everything and more. Good times had by all. Did alright gambling, except for at the sportsbook, but lost most of my money on booze and the spearmint rhino.

the Phils will be all right, this is nothing new to us

PJ20 priced a lot of people out, mostly because of the inconvenience of where it is, not easy to get a good travelocity/expedia deal when you're flying into a city and staying 45 miles away from that city. My calculations had me at $1550 for two people, and that didn't include two very important incidentals like drinking and eating.

i guess camping is cheaper but none of my friends want to do that.

i was thinking of minimum $300 for flight, $167 ticket, then we were thinking of either getting an rv, renting a house, or getting a hotel for 3 nights....that plus everything else that comes with a weekend like that (booze, food, etc etc etc) should put you around a grand or so at least.
