  • bissenger also has a good article on businessinsider.com, of all places, today talking about why the nba is losing popularity.

This is not a good article. It's reflecting his own racism. I love my Temple Owls, and they have just one white American player who gets even a little bit of PT. I'm fully aware that they all work their asses off.

The NBA's declining popularity couldn't possibley have anything to do with boring games? Or the same teams winning every year? No, it has to be racist white people, of course.

Ahh, shit, saw that but forgot to respond. Fuck dude, I didn't make it to a game. Our trip schedule got switched up and I was in Madrid while Barca was at home and was in Barcelona when Madrid was at home, so I couldn't make it to a game. Was piggybacking off my girlfriends work schedule so there wasn't any room to do it differently. Saw the stadium and walked around but didn't get to a game. Was extremely disappointed.

Where did you mention you are going?

Damn man, thats a tragedy! Well, maybe next time...

i'm going to England for a few matches. First stop Anfield, then maybe Theatre of Dreams

Yeah, trip was great, just disappointed that didn't work out. Definitely next time, there will definitely be more opportunities.

Thats awesome, dude. I would definitely try to make it to Old Trafford too. Have heard nothing but great things. Enjoy and definitely post about, definitely interested to hear.

ha! yeesh. "i'm like going back to the red batting practic....yada" wtf was that? sounds like i suffered through a stroke typing that out. i was typing fast cuz my manager crept up behind me.

i'm just not a fan of dark blue entering the phils color scheme. it always looks foreign to me.

Nice. 90% of the bozos on this board get their panties in a bunch for having their horrible spelling/grammar corrected. I'm sure I fuck up all the time and I have no problem with being called out on it.

yeah, the phils jersey shouldn't have any blue in them. I don't get it either. The phils unis in general suck

He just has that chubby face thing going on (like a big version of my 4-month old  ). Also, last year he couldn't make it through 6 innings, which didn't help his rep around here. In general I agree with you that he's underrated and disrespected.

yeah, last year he never got going after being out for the first month and a half. He came on and did pitch well in the last month and a half though.

he throws 200 innings every year. it's not like he's consistently out of shape. people need to get off this guy's case. I'll always be partial to him for his 2008 performance (not to mention being their most consistent SP in 2009).

and his homer - perhaps my all-time favorite in-person sports moment.

    Let's see:

    -Blanton World Series HR
-Primeau 5OT goal in Pittsburgh (this is probably #1, actually)
-Milt Thompson bases clearing triple in bottom 1st in Game 4 of '93 Series (even if we later blew a 14-9 lead)
-Mariano Duncan's grand slam off Lee Smith
-Pepe Sanchez free throws at 0:00 to beat Michigan St. in '98
-Season tixx for Eagles 8-0 at home in 1992 (highlight was prob 31-7 win over Cowboys on MNF)

that's a cool list. I would put primeau first too if I were you.

    My top 5 would be

    1 - 2008 WS clinching game
    2 - Halladay no hitter
3 - Rollins walk off vs Broxton
4 - Giroux's OT game winner vs Hawks in SCF
5 (tie) - Blanton HR game (phils went up 3-1 in series was pretty much over) and Ruiz walk off dribbler up the third base line

Weird that all of them happened in the last 3 years. We are spoiled right now as philly fans

feel free to substitute a "ph" for the "f" if you'd like. it's just a name.

hey any of you guys here have a Suburban with a license plate Ten-Deep? saw it in the Havertown wawa early sunday afternoon. thought about waiting to see who came out to get back into it but thought that might be a bit weird. just wondering if it was anyone here, or if it even had anything to do with PJ.

The damn thing closed before I got around to signing up. How did it go from 5,000 people in 2001 to 30,000 in 2011?

I'll go to the Sly Fox goat races instead. :D

I know. Crazy. It's funny, the day I was going to register it said there was about 5,000 spots left. An hour later, boom, sold out. So I emailed the chick in charge and she put me on a list. Pleasantly surprised to see she emailed me today.

That goat race made that dude Art Mann's show on HD Net. I think I'm going to hit that up this year.
