  • R6 is the fastest man in mlb history to hit 250 hrs. It took him 855 games, but he is overrated to some.
Cliffy what in that statement is wrong? I mentioned something I heard posted it then u and pam started. Plus your a yankees fan I really don't care about your views towards the phillies or Howard. Not tryn to be an ass but my post was a fact about a phillie and u came into the convo. I have no problem with u at all but u try and stick, Up so much for certain people u don't see that u helped start this.

agreed. but it goes both ways. the blow up last weekend stemmed from a snide remark by fixer about others regarding cole hamels. he attempted to start shit in the college thread last night but nobody bought the bait. goes both ways. it is really annoying. we all have a part in it. everyone should just call a truce and enjoy this amazing team.

allow the jeagler to offer the first olive branch...

dude, I was hammered last night. had my fantasy draft and drank way too much. I apologize if I was being a douche...that's my bad.

I'm on board with the truce...this arguing has gotten annoying

    who do you like tonight?

don't really like the NFL game. If I had to pick, I'd take the saints. I will be betting because I'm a degenerate, but it will be a small bet.

I like Miss St a lot tonight. Also think temple covers, but that's a small bet as well

    you?

  • Here's some good news: no R.A. Dickey this weekend. He knocks the Phils' bats off their game for about a week. I think the Phils will be fine in Citi Field. The first series they were in a huge slump. The second series they couldn't hit Dickey, but otherwise they were fine. Last year they didn't have any problems there.

    I didn't realize that was R6's 250th. We're lucky to have him. :D

the mets are walking corpses at this point. phils better take 2 of 3 this weekend...at worst.

josh johnson might be out for the year. he was scheduled to face phils and braves 2 times each.

Hoping the Phils make it to Game 7 of the World Series, cause I just purchased two tickets to said game.

Nice. I have game 1. If they're in it I'm sure I will be hitting stubhub for the other home games

Oh, yeah, by the way, thanks. Blake the porn star hooked it up.
  • And hopefully this team has something in the tank by the end of the season - if they make it. The 'pen, as of now, is gassed, rotation is getting pushed, Rollins is hobbled, and apparently Polanco's got a broken elbow(via 700level) which he'll be able to play through but will require surgery after the season. Tough time ahead, but they're fully tested battlers. Again, hopefully the Bravos tank and it'll make this that much easier.

Good thing is that they have a bunch of off days in september. I thought polanco just had bone spurs? did you hear something new? knew about the post-season surgery

Rollins just looks like he got old quick. Nagging injuries and loss of bat speed.

Well, I just explained to him my situation about my season tix and he got back to me saying how he understood my situation completely and said he ran into a few cases like that. He told me just to buy my playoff tix for the two other games and that he would get back to me, hopefully with good news, once all the playoff invoices were paid on the 2nd. Got back to me yesterday offering me game 7. I know it's the only game I've got for the WS, and it's the most highly unlikely of scenarios of happening, but at least I've got a pair to a potential game instead of nothing.

As to your above post - apparently it was just reported on the AP that Polly's got a broken elbow.( the700level.com ).

And in regards to Rollins, the beats on DNL today were saying how Jimmy's been playing hobbled all season. He's like Chase in those regards - he's going to play everyday whether they want him to or not and he won't talk about it(injuries). They forced him to to go to the DL and all that with the calf. Now there's the hammy. I just think Jimmy's naturally athletic and takes it for granted. I don't think he puts in the regular day-in day-out conditioning to stay at a top level and just relies on his abilities.

Funny story. A friend of mine ran into Joe Nelson at a bar in Toronto and they ended up hitting the bars together, getting drunk and all that jazz. Nelson told my buddy how when he was a senior, or junior, in high school this little scrawny freshman was taking BP and hitting the absolute shit out of the ball. Nelson went up to the kid and said, "Hey, man, you coming out for the team?" The kid said, "Eh, yeah, I'm trying to make JV." Nelson told the kid no fucking way and that you're playing varsity. That kid was Jimmy Rollins. Cool story - at least I think it was.

that's cool that he was able to help you out. Last year he was able to change my WS game from 10/31 to 11/1 for me. I had some concert to attend on halloween.

    Who is Joe Nelson?

Gotta respect a guy playing through this...

Placido Polanco has broken elbowEmail Print Comments4 Associated Press

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco is playing with a small break in his left elbow but is postponing surgery until after the season because Philadelphia is in a pennant race.

Polanco is batting .308 with six homers and 47 RBIs for the surging Phillies, who lead the NL East by a game over the Atlanta Braves.

"I have a broken elbow, but it is rather small and will be operated on at the end of the year," Polanco told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "It is something minor, less than half an hour [the surgery], and rehabilitation will take only a month. I have not been operated on before because I would have lost the season if I did it."

The 34-year-old Polanco spent time on the disabled list earlier this season with elbow inflammation.

"Sometimes I don't have the same power to swing and as I have been compensating for the elbow I have caused a bit of tendinitis in my forearm," he said.

Straight up, just don't pay attention to the fact that Santana suffered yet another season ending injury to his throwing arm, which will require another major surgery...they say he should be able to resume throwing by spring so you should be good to go..

If the phils ever trade utley I am blowing up cbp.

Id trade howard fpr wright or reyes in a heartbeat. Minaya would love to get his paws on thaat contract.

Mets fans are classic. All I had to do everytime someone attempted to talk junk was say 'really?'. Then they'd try to say the eagles suck. God I hate the nfl...and the mets. Ny is the best though
