    .290, 14 hrs, 51 rbi....this team has way more pressing issues than this right now.

    just saying that the contract is ridiulously bad

    howard had a clutch AB on saturday too...not to mention his throws this weekend.

    there is more to baseball than hitting home runs. My point is that the guy is getting paid 25 mill a year. he better be damn near close to perfect to earn that contract. and he's not. actually he's far from it.

    I don't think there is a direct correlation here. Hitting a home run is one of numerous variables that goes in to winning a baseball game.

    For example, we could look at adam dunn's record every time he hits a home run. His teams' record would still suck in those games.

    One player hitting a home run and his team winning are virtually independent when discussing why teams win games

    so ignore his pure dominance of the game friday night and focus on one at bat on saturday. typical of a certain philly type fan who just constantly harps on our star players never EVER pointing out their good qualities.
