Anyone ever take Heroin ONCE?

I agree. It's a sad world we live in that some people have no where else to turn for comfort but to drugs. Do you think that is entirely societal or moreso character? I think the latter.

Anyway, if people ask me I'll always say it's probably not a very wise thing to do. But it's their choice, like I said, I know people who have 'chased the dragon' and they're fine. Was it a bad idea? From what one of them told me, no. He had a very profound, wonderful experience and he's very glad he had it but he won't be doing heroin again. It didn't fuck him up. He's alive and well.

I think like with most things the key is education and information. I know what it can do and I have decided for myself that I won't try it, I won't say, however, that heroin is always a bad idea. Also, because the term "bad idea" is a bit meaningless.

Trying heroin one time is not a smart decision. My opinion. Take it or leave it. I will tell everyone and anyone I know that same thing.

Now if you are dying or in intense pain from a disease, I have no problem with Dr. assisted pain medication.

I hope the threadstarter takes the advice from us who recommend he not try it.

I am sure Russian roulette is pretty intense game and a way "to explore the boundaries of life", but I wouldnt recommend that either. 83% of those who try it live to tell about it. Even with those odds in your favor, its still a very bad idea.

i woke up this morning and realised that a lot of what i've said on this thread was extremely disrespectful and offensive to someone i love. and for that, and only that, i apologise to him.

With that said, obviously trying heroin is not a good idea under any circumstances. Whoever says otherwise is probably a user and/or is certainly caught in a situation where common alternatives seem less and less of a viable option. (Perhaps Cate and the mysterious heroin hero are the exception .)

Excellent post and yep, I would also add cigarettes to the list of things I would NOT advise people to try once EVER.

Cate, I don't see how you could have been disrespectful or offensive to anyone... I for one had no idea what you were trying to say... you gave no details so I wouldn't worry about it.
