Also, the number one killer with drugs is cigarettes. Then alcohol. Maybe when you get your facts right and stop being so sanctimonious, then I'll take your opinions seriously. Right now I'm pretty sure I'm more informed on this subject than yourself. All drugs are evil, horrible killers? People like you are the reason why people don't know what they need to know about drugs. People like my brother have the problems that they have because of people like you who don't know what they're talking about. Ok? So maybe now you know why I'm pissed off.

secondly... i am answering your questions as you ask them. i am not being elusive. however it seems to me there are are few people on this board who seem to think that they can decide what is worth doing and what is not. all one can do is answer that question in relation to themselves. and yes a few of you have been touched, in this instance, by friends and family members who have and still are drug users. and whilst i can empathise, it is not your call to make. for me or for anyone else. you can't sit there and decide that anyone doing anything isnt worth it to that person. you dont know who that person is and you don't know their life. if you think im gonna sit here and tell you WHY i feel the way i do then you are mistaken. just as you don't know me, i don't know you and you are not my friend. the only person's life you truly know is your own and even then thats sometimes difficult to get a handle on.

but cate, it might help, if you want us to understand, for you to explain. What's the point in just telling people 'you're wrong but I'm not going to tell you why'? If someone has seen people they love destroyed by heroin, of course it's natural for them to advise others that it's bad. Everyone's still gonna do what they're gonna do but there's nothing wrong with discussing the benefits and the drawbacks of certain things.

whats makes you think i want you(collective) to understand helen? how could anyone possibly understand? and just so you know, i am one of those people who has seen what heroin can do. as far as benefits go... well... all i want is to be away from where i am and i will do that any way i can.
however...did you all miss where i said that since then circumstances have changed, tis no longer about me and the chance has passed? i can wish all i want but as i am very specific in who i would take this drug from/with i now know the chances of it happening are nil.

well I got that impression from your posts here... telling everyone who disagreed that they're wrong but not by explaining why they're wrong... I'm obviously not saying you have to tell at all but don't be so quick to shoot others and their opinions down. Just as you disagreeing with our opinions does not make you wrong, it doesn't make us wrong either! People can be free to read both sides and take from it what they must.

and what specifically did i say helen that gave you the impression i was disagreeing absolutely with what other people were actually saying. what i posted was relevant to me and the experiences i have had. i never chastised anyone for having their own opinion. though i did respond to generalities thrown. and i also understood the emotion behind those posts where people wrote they'd known someone personally who had fucked up their lives by using heroin. tis just i am coming from a different place on this.

nuff said, and to sit here and say your brother is fucked on drugs becasue of peopel like me is probabaly 10 times more nonsense than my misuse of the facts to prove to casual heroin users that it kills like a motherfucker. There are kids in our local high shcool that are dying every year from it, also.
1 very serious point on my comparisons on the booze being legal is this.
In New Jeresy there have been many cases of people dying the first time they used it from a bad mix, this doesnt haoppen alll to often with booze and cigs.
All your yelling at me does is make me sound like I make no sense.
Which in turn would mean the drug is not as bad as what I say, obviously I exxagerated, but when you see a 15 year old die the first time she tryed it, maybee second, from a bad mix.
How would you feel.
I mean Im sure people were telling her that she could just try it once, and she thought she could handle it, but hey shes gone, and you are telling me Im an asshole for responding the way I did, you say I dont know you, well you dont know me either pal. So dont start with double standards.

Please, no really, please tell me where I said it wasn't a bad drug? just quit making things up ok? I find it very hard to sit back while being misquoted, having my integrity called into question and generally being misrepresented by a person who knows fuck all about me. Just seriously, please show me one thing that I have said in this thread that was in any way misleading to anyone? I have said that drugs are dangerous. I have said that I have experience of drugs. I have said that I know people who have had experiences of drugs. Just because I called your statements into question, don't start getting all high and mighty with me. I never once tried to justify heroin use but neither do I judge people for it, unlike yourself. All I know is, I, same as anyone else, would be far less likely to rebel as a teenager if I was given both sides of the story about drugs and could make an informed decision than if I got YOUR brand of drug education. Trust me, if I was educated by people like you, I would be dead or in prison right now. Thankfully I was informed by people who knew what they were talking about, presented both sides of the story and never tried to go about claiming that drugs were the biggest eveil in the world. And look at me now. I have never taken heroin in my life, even though I had it offered to me for free. How does that make me someone who thinks that heroin is a good thing?!

All drugs used recreational are addicting, you want me to tell peoplether wise to help them learn, learn what,
tell me what I need to know.
My missuse of the factsinvolved death thats it.
I said heroin is prob the leading killer in recreational drug deaths.
I said booze and cigs are legal, taking the same doses daily, heroin would kill faster.

So im suppossed to think you know so much about heroin, from that reply, than you say drugs are not addicitng, how can you say that, people get addicted to cough medicine. I am not a priest, I have tons of expierence with people using drugs.

I reread our posts, when you first mentioned the heart disease fact, I looked at that as being sarcastic, you to understand where I was going with my original post, it wasnt like I was trying to say heroin was a good thing, that came off to me as someone being funny like the person mentioning cobain.
Than you start calling me names and acting like I dont have a clue, when we probably agreed on the drug.
When you questioned my comment on all recreational drugs being adedicitng they are.

Firstly, that first part is factually incorrect. Again.

Secondly, you need to learn that there are two sides to every story and that blanket statements help no one. You know what happens when you tell a child with the most mild rebellious nature that drugs are bad? They do them. You know what happens when you educate a child with all the facts and allow them to form their own opinion? They might not do them. Oh, and don't call me a kid. First of all, I'm not. Secondly, your patronisation just comes across as misguided and ironic when your posts barely adhere to grammatical conventions, never mind accuracy of content.

i know drugs can kill you. i've watched it happen. i also know that making out that drugs are absolute evil isn't the best plan of attack. or defense for that matter. ive seen some very nice people turn into absolute arseholes on drugs. people that i love who i dont much like when they are so out of it theyre abusive or hallucinating or aren't even sure who i am. and this is the mild side. so tis not as if im sitting here encouraging anyone to do drugs. i was giving my story. i certainly wasnt going to answer the original question with a resounding and hypocritical "good lord no only an absolute idiot would take heroin." sure drugs fuck up people's lives. but some people come through and some people don't. what i am saying is, it is up to the individual, that's all. take responsibility for your own life. is it worth it? well i guess that again comes down to the individual. we can all tell our stories of horror, but in the end tis not our decision.

Exactly, because plenty of recreational drugs aren't physically addictive AT ALL. They might cause the user to develop a psychological dependency but that's entirely dependent on the user.
