Sounds great in Charlie's southern drawl... especially the "womanly" way he reiterates it.

seeing them against the Mets on sat. with my mom, sis & uncle
...its been beautiful here, but the only day its forecasted to rain, as far as i know, is (of course) saturday...
    .... :[
hopefully it will stay clear for the game!

Really did not expect the Phils to pull off a 4-game sweep of the Brewers, but it is a beautiful thing. Great outing by Brett last night on 3-days rest.

Delgado who? Howard has been carrying this team on his back in Sept. Hopefully the Nationals give the Mets problems like they did last Sept.

Hopefully, yesterday got Pat out of his slump.

    Go Phils!!

  • Who would have thought Brett Myers would be the toast of Philly right now.

Certainly not me, but I’ll give the guy credit. He pitched a great game last night.

I’ll admit that I’m usually overly optimistic when it comes to the Phils, but in the last few weeks, I had no confidence at all.

I’m starting to change my tune. The way they’ve played recently shows me a complete turnaround as far as the desire to win goes.

    Go Phillies!!!!!!

Brett Myers has had one of the great turnarounds in Philly history. It is amazing how well he has pitched since coming back up from the minors. and freakin Moyer is amazing. Hopefully they can keep it up - Brewers are fading fast.

Agree with you 100% on all accounts here. I was really concerned about this team 2 weeks ago, but its starting to feel like last september again.

ah yes, last September. I'll admit it, I cried when they won the NL east. Not hysterically, but some tears flowed. :D

They've blown series in which they should have won (the fish, nationals)

    This team is Schizophrenic

Absolutely... a win tonight would cap a very exciting weekend! The pessimist in me still thinks we are going to go down to Atlanta and get swept... Although Moyer is going tomorrow, and he's been clutch as of late. I can't believe Kendrick is pitching on Wed. I'd rather give Happ a chance.

Ditto. But I could see them maybe thinking this attitude they have right now will help Kyle surge or something? Who knows - I'm sure he'll be on a short leash. I think once they get through this rotation one time they'll be back to a 4 man. They just gotta get those guys rested.

hopefully we won't need that kind of production over the last few weeks.. I don't know how many times you can go to the well on three days rest without getting burnt.

Nah, it's just because of the stupid doubleheader. But they HAVE to go to a 4 man rotation.
  • Nah, it's just because of the stupid doubleheader. But they HAVE to go to a 4 man rotation.

I agree, it's not that unusual at this time of the year for a team to shorten it's rotation

what they did last week was a last ditch effort, they had no choice

    and thankfully it worked out

right now, I think Kendrick is too inside his own head to do this team any good. He pitched well throughout the year but after the last few starts, he's in his own head big time and baseball being the mental game that it is, they just can't risk it.

well maybe the fire starters in that flammable mets bullpen will help matters...

Ha. Dale Sveum got the job. He was terrible as a Phillie back in 92.

How he stuck around 13 years batting .236 still amazes me.

    What a bum

Maybe he'll be a better Manager

Probably not. He was terrible as a Red Sox third base coach in 04 and 05. He resigned before he got fired and got the bench coach job at Milwaukee for 06 and 07 and was demoted to 3rd base coach before this season.

I can't see him being a good manager.

The only positive he brought to Boston was that he's John Olerud's cousin and when the Sox has an injury at 1st base he talked Olerud out of retirement.
