Did you see the home run jig by Tatis when he hit that home run? As soon as he hit it in the air I went to the pisser. Someone's gotta put one right in his ear tonight.

Yeah, kinda haven't seen a bench clearing brawl from this team in a looooong time. The last one I can remember was against the Expos. But it'd be nice.

I'll venture to bet that no bean balls this game.... both bullpens are depleted and the Phils don't have an off day till late next week.

I remember one where Darryl Strawberry rushed the mound at Shea !

I forget who the pitcher was for the Phils ?

This has been Tatis and Reyes' MO. I'll put up with their little home run dances, its a good trade-off to see the look of embarrassment on their faces as they trotted back into the clubhouse last night with their heads down. That and the look on the Mets' fans faces from the 8th inning on last night... Nothing better.

    Go Phils!!

Was it Pat Combs? I remember him being involved in a big fight with the Mets back in the day.

I was at the game on Sunday night. That was awesome.

We should've got smoked last night. That was just a bad showing by LA. How do you leave that many men on base and have that many hits and not score? Wow. But, it's all good. Tough stretch comin up.

    yeah, that sucked!!
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

That's why so many teams hate the Mets and love beating them. like The Marlins and Nationals, who were hopelessly out of it last year, yet got up to play and beat the Mets like it was their world series

Anybody see that one Met fan with the cut-off sleeves(perfect representation of a Met fan by the way) and the blue Mets hat they kept showing on CSN? That was awesome. Especially how he got fed up after Howard hit that home run - he was running up the aisle.

Speaking of fights - Pat Combs! Yes! The best brawl I saw with the Phils was either in like 1990 against the Cubs or the one in '94 against the Expos - they fucked Delino DeShields up! Oh, and there's the one where Dykstra rolled the Dodger's cather Dempsey at the plate after Lenny told em to quit bitching. "Do you see that sign there?(Dykstra pointing to his avg.) What's it say?! It says 4 fucking hundred. Ya know why?! Because I know what it is a ball and a fucking strike!" Just awesome.

Yep, then it's the same fight. Doc Gooden hit two Phils and then Combs hit Gooden and then a 20 minute brawl broke out.

Are you insinuating that the late 80s were bad for the Phillies? Come on, Lance Parrish, Steve Jeltz, Chris James, Ron Jones, Bruce Ruffin, Dickie Thon, Bob Dierner, Kent Tekulve, ...

on 2nd thought, good point! ;)

    OMG !

What a pile of crap those teams were

Steve Jeltz did homer in the same game from both sides of the plate

    ;)

Glenn Wilson had a cannon in right !

so I wonder if Charlie was a genius tonight for using Rudy fucking Seanez in the 8th fucking inning. And don't give me the other guys are unavaiable. They are unavailable because you use them with 9000 double switches every game. And don't even get me started on our best pitcher (Hamels) having not started a game all freakin' year against the Mets. Brilliant Charlie.

Yeah, I'm angry about him putting Seanez out there in the 8th. However, I'm actually not too angry about Hamels not going against the Mets. This Cubs series is actually bigger than the 2-game Mets series, and I would rather have Hamels going tonight. A win tonight and we're tied with the Mets. Hopefully FLA beats up on NY this weekend.

And it looks like Hamels will be pitching the 3rd game of the series up at Shea next weekend....

I'm not worried, the division is ours to lose. The Mets bullpen is going to be the death of them down the stretch. Our bullpen blew one last night, but the Mets have 22 blown saves this year... that puts it into perspective...

it's not so much about Hamels not starting this series but not once yet all year is just stupid. On to the Cubs - bad feeling about this series though.

Sadly, he still only had like 10 career HRs.

I still don't get that mentality... why does Hamels have to start at all against the Mets during the season??? I can see if it is the last week of the season and the teams are close but to shuffle the rotation just so your ace can start against a rival during the season is stupid. I'd rather him start against the Cubs and give us a nice kick off to a tough series.

They used Andrew fucking Carpenter too...So I think that about sums it up....But whatever, I would've like to have taken both those games and been fine with splitting with Chicago, but I dunno now...Kendrick and Seanez both put those balls in places where you have to know you can't throw to Delgado. Anything below the knees is gonna be outta the park. But over and done now, onto Chi town. By the way, is it just me? But I do not fear this team one bit. I think they have a really good shot against the Cubs, especially in that park.

Well if Romero didn't pitch Monday in the 5-0 game like I mentioned earlier, he would have been available to pitch the 8th last night.

Last night is what I meant by Manuel doesn't manage the bullpen well. With a 5 run lead you should never use one of your best relievers who is overworked.

If you're going to pitch to Delgado and not worry about the righty/lefty matchup...why not bring in Lidge to face him and get the 4 out Save ?

I would have rather had Lidge face Delgado there

His numbers in non-save situations are bad
