Let's hope the Phils continue their domination of the Mets from last year.

Its good to see Burrell actually hitting in April, and now going into Shea, he should be able to keep it up.

Good way to keep our winning streak against the Mets going. What is it, 9 now?

Tough game last night. I think that call could have gone either way, and I understand its a lot tougher to make a call at full speed. Either way, plenty of good things came out of the game. Another good outing from Eaton, which hopefully he continues once our bats wake up. Good bullpen showing, even Gordon, can't fault him for the 12th. All in all, we continue to play the Mets tough (besides that forgettable game on Wednesday).

Myers vs. Zambrano tonight, hopefully Brett gets going.

    Go Phils & Flyers!

All this talk for Chase being the "way to early" MVP canidate. Pat Burrell is carrying this baseball club. And Jason Werth is contributing pretty consistently as well. ( Did anyone see his mom at the ballgame today...Hot) I would start him over Victorino. yea, you give up solid defense, speed and a great arm, but the Hawaiian can't bat for shit. What do u guys think?

She wasn't hot, Pat and Chase should be co players of the month. Werth is playing well but i wouldn't trade Shane as of yet. Howard can't hit for shit either now but i'm not giving up on him either. Relax all will work out with Shane, once he gets back and is stealing bags all will be fine. LETS GO PHILLIES!

Nice little homestand so far. Glad to see the Phils getting wins early in the season for once.

Hopefully Myers can pitch well tonight because Volquez is on fire right now. We can't afford having Bret giving up his usually 3-run spot in the first inning.

    Utley for MVP!!

Anyone know where our offense went?

Hopefully we can at least pull a few wins out before the all-star break. I'd like to see us get another starter, perhaps Burnett or Bedard. Hell, I'll be happy if Benson comes up and produces.

Can't complain too much, this time last year we were 4.5 games out of 1st, and look how last year turned out.

Its still our division to lose this year. Not really worried about the Mets and Braves this year, but the Marlins got a good young team. Hopefully their inexperience will hurt them in the 2nd half.

Alyssa Milano is going to be at the ballpark for tomorrow's afternoon game, might have to make it a half day. :)

    Go Phils!

You should begin to worry about the New York Mets, especially with a series at Shea next week. The Mets began their 10-game win streak by taking the final 3 of 4 at Philly.

Joe Blanton is not the answer, though Brett Myers could be important to the stretch-run.

I agree that Joe Blanton is not the answer, but he is an upgrade over Eaton.

The past few years have proven that we're a 2nd half team. This time last year we were 4 or 5 back, so I'm happy being tied for 1st at the moment.

I admit that it is a bit unnerving to see the Mets run-off 10 in a row. But that's baseball for you, it goes in waves. Delgado and Tatis aren't going to be hitting .400 over the next 3 months, and your bullpen (besides last night) has been pitching better than expected.

Rivalries make the game that more exciting, and I'm looking forward to next Tue. - Thurs. As well as hoping the Reds slow you guys down a bit.

The Phillies were recently working on a blockbuster with Colorado that would have netted them Brian Fuentes and Matt Holliday for something like Shane Victorino, J.A. Happ, Carlos Carrasco, and Lou Marson. Those talks have stalled, and the added payroll might've been a problem for the Phillies anyway.

Lets hope the comment about payroll didn't hold this up totally

To add Holliday and possibly win a championship some extra money shouldn't hold you back !

They're making a shit load of money this year at the Bank

Heard leaving Shea Stadium last night:

    "Not again"

The Mets bought in Santana to win them the division, yet with a key division series, they pull him after 8 when their closer is unavailabe. Was that Charlie Manuel or Jerry Manuel in their dugout? (No offense Charlie).

Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose.... nice play @ 2nd. Thanks for the victory.

    Go Phils!!

    nice comeback

For $120 million, I would expect Santana to start the 9th... he may not finish it but damn he has to start.

Nice job by the Phils of playing small ball tonite, especially in the 9th. When was the last time this team scored 8 runs and only had a solo HR.....

I'm a Met fan, so I can never be comfortable. You should know that by now ;)..Anyway, why are you still gloating about last year? In reality, the only thing you/your team won was a pathetic and embarrasing old school ass beating/sweep by the Rockies..
    2 games up..
