  • I just did an hour on the elliptical, deadlifts, crunches, reverse crunches, twists, and planks today...then I went and ate unhealthy foods and got drunk...

prolly won't be working out tomorrow, getting my hair cut/colored in the morning...

I...then I went and ate unhealthy foods

Oh yeah, I had peanut butter M&M's yesterday.

Today it is pouring down raining so I guess I will be on the trainer (bike) this morning. We still don't have tv yet either after the storm. I am just about out of DVD's. I may watch Touring Band 2000 again.

  • Oh yeah, I had peanut butter M&M's yesterday.

I can beat that, the unhealthy food I had yesterday was PUMPKIN ravioli in alfredo sauce! I went to get dinner at this like italian take-out place down the street, and I had intended to get a veggie wrap. and then I'm standing in line and there's this huge sign that says "pumpkin ravioli in alfredo sauce!" and I'm thinking, "I have never heard of pumpkin ravioli...well, pumpkin is healthy..." Anyway, I'm sure the gallons of sangria I also ingested last night did worse than the pumpkin ravioli.

oh well, sometimes you just have to socialize.

mmmmmmm..... pumpkin ravioli sounds awesome! I would have ordered that too, but without alfredo.

I swam 1750 yards this morning - slow, slow, slow, slow. I ordered a DVD from Kiefer on swimming. Hopefully that will help.

I was on the bike last night (trainer). I had to take out my frustrations with a certain fan club ticketing process on something. I did feel better after sweating a bit.

it's amazing, I swam from age 8 to age 18 every night. Last year when I was at school and had access to a pool I started swimming a bit. I'm a better swimmer now than when I was competitive!

swimming is so boring though...and makes me way too hungry after!

Not so. I am the worst swimmer EVER! If you slog out the laps there is no doubt you can do more and faster! My only swimming attribute is I float well so I don't worry about drowning, and I'm not scared of open water. However, I can't seem to move forward very fast. I get really disgusted.

At triathlons it is always those who swam when they were young that do the best in the swim portion - even if they haven't swam much as an adult. Those of us that start later in life seem to be at a distinct disadvantage!

I am a bit jealous of you good swimmers.

And yes, swimming makes me hungry. But then again so does everything else.

haha I've only done one triathlon, and swimming well was not an advantage- not being swam over was the only advantage! ugh it was murky water and you couldn't see where you were going and everyone was wacking each other and it was virtually impossible to swim in any sort of a straight line!

the thought of the murky water is probably my biggest reason for NOT ever wanting to try a triathalon.

There are many triathlons that have pool swims. We will be doing one the end of this month and another at the end of April. Personally, I prefer the open water. I get really bored swimming in the pool. However, it is not pleasant to come out of the water with mud between your toes and/or algea hanging off my arms, back, etc.

    Simple workout..

    3 sets of 20 push-ups.
    3 sets of 30 sit-ups.
    Stretching.
10-30 minute run, depending on the weather.

3 to 7 days a week depending on my schedule.

Yuck. I always swallow water in a tri so I would be really grossed out!

There really weren't dead bodies found during the tri, right?

are you kidding? that's the easiest workout I've ever seen in my life...running for 10 minutes??? I'm not trying to look down on anyone's workouts but don't make a nothing workout out to be something great.

Well, I've changed it many times, most recently I had to remove 3 sets of 10 chin-ups because I no longer have a chin-up bar, but I've been on the 3 to 7 day a week thing for atleast 12 years or so, since early high school.

Not everyone has the same goals when it comes to workouts. I applaud everyone that has a workout routine and sticks to it. I see so many people I went to school with, family members, and acquaintance who can't walk around the block without getting winded and tired. :( So every workout, if you stick with it, is a good workout. :)

My goals are to complete a half iron distance triathlon in June, but I sure don't expect others to come anywhere close to the distances I have to run, ride and swim the next few months - unless, of course, they plan on doing a Half Iron too.

Every work out is a good work out! :):)

I work out every other day....usually I do 30 mins of pilates and then 30 to 45 minutes of cardio. But then again I change it up a lot.

The day before I started college, my freshman year (September 1986) I ran 1/4 mile. It was a big accomplishment for me. It was the first time I decided to make running a part of my life, and I was going to go at it methodically so I couldn't hurt myself. By that time I was told I couldn't weight lift due to health reasons, and running type stuff were the best things for me. Unfortunately, in 5th grade, 6th grade, and 12th grade I hyperventilated while running on 3 different occasions because I thought I was hurting myself. The fear made me breathe wrong. . . but, I was going to do it.

March 2, 1999 I ran 6 miles non-stop for the first time in my life. It was a life goal, and made me realize that I could have done it much earlier. However, the waiting made the goal sweeter. March 2, 2007 I ran 10 miles non-stop for the first time.

I've cheered YOU on! I cheered YOU on when I found out you were going to do a 10-miler this February. Why can't you do the same, and spread the good cheer?
