I'm training for a 10-miler in April, and I'm just getting used to running in the mornings. A formal training schedule will start next week as it is 10 weeks out. I will be emailed from the Cherry Blossom organizers my daily workout.

Watching a Rargh blab him to death

    (:( ) :p

Thanks for doing this. All we did in Hawaii for xmas- eat eat eat. New york for New years same thing. Lots of walking in New York, lots of um "adventures?" in Kauai....now i have to keep it up.

CARDIO!!! Thats my biggest downfall. Not doing enough cardio. You have to SWEAT!!! if you want to lose excess baggage.

I am gonna do 45 mins today. Maybe one day Ill get up to Dunne's level...Thanks soo much for the inspiration- I needed someone to push me.

    Good for you!!!

  • 50 push ups and sit ups in the morning. That's it other than masturbation, but not sure if that's technically a work out.
  • Also, there are some good Pilates videos on Youtube. :)

    what kind of weight training?

Free weights for upper body, machines for legs and abs. Oh, I also take a weight on a string and tie it to my....um, nevermind.

  • depending on the day:

training for half marathon, which right now is between 4-8 miles and pace training and I usually do some crunches and push ups with that.

I have been sticking to my very difficult cross training routine from when I was fit but I can't do it anymore so my new work outs are

-either 30 minutes on the treadmill or eliptical or 20 minute intervals on the treadmill (30/30).
-upper body is supersets with a drop set on the last set. all the basic lat/chest/bis/tris whatnot.
-lower body is also supersets. lots of squats, lunges, jumps, calf raises, and step ups (this is what I have the most problems with now that I am out of shape!)
-core stuff I do planks, crunches, twists, leg raises, side planks, reverse crunches.

and I try to walk everywhere, I run the stairs in the T stops as much as possible, and I like to ride my bike and hike when it's not winter :).
  • That's it other than masturbation, but not sure if that's technically a work out.
I guess it can be depending on how hard you breathe and sweat.

    *did I just write that?*

So I guess it really depends on the day if it's a work out or not. Nice.

Always used to just do a weight routine in the house and go running twice a week but joined a gym recently. Havent set up a program with them yet, just been going on the treadmill mostly to sweat out all the nonsense of xmas and new year. Done 30 mins on it the last 4 days, also 3 sets of 15 on an abs machine and 15 mins on the rowing machines. Havent used any of the other weight machines, waiting till i get a program.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

My wife saw a tape of me when I was in hs/college when I was 'in shape' and she damn near put her head through the tv while screaming at the top of her lungs "Who Is That!?!?!?!" "Who Is That?!?!?!" for a minute straight.

Good Lord I have a lot of work to do.
I love to turn you on

Hahahahaa the string method?? silly boy! they have a machine for that too!

I like free weights, but for a while I was using a machine for my legs. now I just do extra tension workouts for my legs and butt.

its upper body that I like to maintain. I am fairly strong without being bulky so it works well for me.

Right on. They could fit into that routine easily enough. I'd do them on your upper body day actually, so they're spread out from squats.
