Sorry there will be NO April 1st Eddie Vedder Seattle shows. He already played them, both last night and there is one happening right now as I type!!! The setlist as I type so far is......
I am Mine
Dead Man
Society
I am going back in folks......
really? where was i when all of this happened? oh that's right. i had NOO idea it was happening! oh well, bummer for me but great for all of you that got to see the show. i hope we have more surprises like this in the future.
$5 tickets went on sale at Easy Street for an "In to the Wild" event. People called around....a person who knows someone told someone about something.....then I got a cryptic PM....then a phone call from a good friend about a rumor of a rumor.....and I ended up on the steps on the community center with Jamainiac, Rockford, Einat, aNiMaL, and Robbie. The owner Easy Street came out and offered us coffee and tea....we could hear Ed playing through the door. A few minutes later the doors opened and we were invited in!
...that's how I ended up there.
What he said...
I got a PM from Robbie with his phone number. Mind you - he and I had never talked or met before yesterday. But I called him and he explained what he thought he thought he knew about a show that may or may not even be possibly and very secretly happening. So, after a short decision time we decided to drive up there together and put our feelers out. All we knew was Kenyon Hall. So we found the hall about 6:40pm. Talked to some guy eating pizza and drinking coffee at the front door, and he denied anything was going on - "nothing to see here folks, move along" type of a statement. But he did say, that if anything was possibly going on, which there wasn't, Easy Street Records would know about it. So, with the quickness we headed to Easy Street Records up the street. Talked to a guy there who also knew nothing about the show last night. Said that yeah, last night that had some tickets but there wasn't anything tonight and even if there was, they had no tickets. So, we went back to the venue, talked to the same guy again who still had nothing for us. Then we met two other guys who actually had passes in hand for this "ITW Screening" at the hall we were at. We asked them how they got them and they said at Easy Street Records about an hour prior. We were like "fuck, we were just there." They guys said they had to talk to a guy at a laptop to get the passes. So, we headed back to the record store (now about 7:20) to find a guy with a laptop. Now, this time at the record store they finally admitted to having tickets and that it was the owner of the record store who was at the laptop selling them about an hour earlier for $5. But they had absolutely no more left. So, again, we headed back to the hall. That's when we met up with the other Pit members who also were without tickets. And then the rest of the story has been told about sitting on the front steps, getting coffee from the guys inside, and then coming back out to ask us if we can be quiet when they let us in to stand in the back of the room!!!
I am still grinning ear to ear today because of last night's excitement. So very cool!! I will never forget it.

What an exciting adventure! I would have been bonkers knowing something was brewing, but no one wanted to give up any info! LOVE IT!
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!
I thought it was funny when Ed said that The Gorge has Dave Matthews stank all over it. And that we shouldn't tell him (Dave Matthews) about this hall because it smelled pretty good and he didn't want to ruin that.
Teasing Dave Matthews was pretty funny.
I also really liked it when Ed started talking about how unhappy he was at the award show (grammy or oscars - I can't remember) because Sean Penn didn't get nominated for categories Ed really felt like Sean should've gotten. He said it didn't bother him in the least for his songs not getting nominated - he viewed that as a night off. But then he said he was watching a greatest hits of the 80's show or something and the Ghostbuster's theme song came on and they mentioned that that song won an award from an award show. Then he introduced the next song as not being as good as the Ghostbuster's song. "Who ya gonna call?" And of course he then played "Guaranteed."
i also went into easy street last night. the guy at the counter said that two guys were just in there looking for tickets...he was pretty pissed because they told him that they just talked to the "owner" of easy street and that they were told to come to the store for tickets.....but then they couldnt give an accurate description of what the "owner" looked like.
Just wondering if I can get a discount back for my Vancouver ticket. If Ed is only charging $5.00 per person in Seattle, why the high price for all the other show?!?!?!
J/K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EV actually adddressed this at the show on Monday. He said at the beginning the idea was to have a short west coast swing with $5 tickets but then his financial advisors strongly advised him against it. I love it. Obviously the music was incredible but some of the best esperiences was listening to EV be so candid with the audience.

I just got back from a week in Mexico and read the first few replies on this thread. Can someone give me a consolidated version of what happened these two days? Did EV play live "unannounced" in Seattle? Good warm up? How many people showed up? etc, etc. I don't have time to read through all replies. Thanks!

nope. i'm framing mine and putting it up on my wall. i don't know why you think i would sell something for $500 on ebay. if i did i wouldn't have an outrageous price on it. i would let it go for whatever people bid on it and proceeds would go to a local animal rescue. if you know me...which ya probably don't you'd know that i'm in it for the music, experiences, and friends. i haven't been on the board in a while, which is sad because i have made some great friends here, but now i see why.
next time something good happens i'll keep it to myself and avoid these judgements and assumptions.
I call bullshit.
Santos calls you out for pimping your poster on ebay, and a listing on ebay is mysteriously removed 20 minutes later?
You got caught--just admit it. Don't go on some "local animal rescue" mea culpa.
So have we accounted for all 14 of us that were let in late? I guess I should have socialized more outside, but I was trying to hear Ed!
I think there were originally 16 of us without tickets. 3 gave up and left (bet they are pissed today), and there was one latecomer, so 14. Correct?
I am piecing this together from previous posts. Help me out, or add details to say who you are if you want.

i doubt she really cares what you think. santos was out of line for posting speculation --something that he/she/it knows nothing about. i do not doubt that there were flippers present....some guy tried to buy $1000.00 worth of posters...probably the same person that got escorted out.

I guess I kind of thought Ed and Dave were friends or acquaintances since they played together at that birthday party together. Or was he joking around?

I'm not sure if he was joking or not, haha! I know he and Dave have played the bday party....and a few times at Bridge together (even shared the stage together).
....but he sounded kinda serious.....made me look around the room to see if Dave was there, hehe.

Cool to be a part of this tiny little group of people that got treated to such a special event. Oh and sennin was without ticket like the rest of us on the Porch.
Found this on TheSkyIScrape--seems pretty accurate:
walkin' the cow
i am mine
dead man
society
no ceiling
i used to work in chicago
far behind
rise
millworker
(outsiders were let in at this point)
broken hearted
you're true
goodbye
driftin' (with harmonica)
hide your love away (with harmonica)
guarenteed
picture in a frame
i wont back down
no more
growin' up (dedicated to Matt)
forever young

It's really not that difficult to see if ebay ID absoluteblue70's email address matches a 10c email address. It's not rocket science.
I would have been happy to drop it if she hadn't posted some animal rescue BS in this thread--she was obviously embarrassed and didn't want to get shut out from future sales so she removed it from ebay.
ok whats it gonna take to get this poster...into the wild lp sealed?? dusseldorf s/n?? hawaii s/n?
lets talk
You got me thinking about what it would take for me to give up one of these bad boys. Prepare yourself, cause this is a long shot. But maybe I finally have some leverage here . . . . . . heh heh.
I would trade one for an Easy Street poster--must be in great to mint condition. Ya know--tit for tat.

i've offered my SIGNED EV Vancouver poster (by way of the WM3 ticket auction) in this thread for the EV Seattle poster, straight up
already have one potential trading partner, but if he/she doesn't like the design of the Vancouver poster i would be happy to have a back-up just in case, so if anyone would be interested in this trade (keep in mind you'd be 2nd in line as per the reason mentioned) feel free to PM me
