Haha. This post just made my day! I'm super happy for you and everyone else who got to see the show!
I'm super jealous being landlocked in the midwest this morning but I'm thrilled for the people who got to enjoy it. I think the poster is awesome. The drawing may be a bit pedestrian (intended I'm sure) but I think it sums up the stuff I love about EV very well. Like the pins especially during this season... and the helmet with the peace symbol. I'd love to get one to throw on the wall... but not at Ebay prices...
Enjoy the west coast tour and here's hoping for an Alpine show to console myself with in the fall!
I know poster flippers are everywhere and it can not be avoided but you are talking about being so lucky about getting in and all that crap and you have a poster on Ebay?!?!
People would have given an arm and a leg to be there and get a poster to hand in their living room ( I know I would have), and you were selling a half pack of cigs for a dollar to buy another poster to rip people off???
Unless Santos is wrong….and he is accusing you of something you are not doing, then what you are doing is really fucking crappy….
nope. i'm framing mine and putting it up on my wall. i don't know why you think i would sell something for $500 on ebay. if i did i wouldn't have an outrageous price on it. i would let it go for whatever people bid on it and proceeds would go to a local animal rescue. if you know me...which ya probably don't you'd know that i'm in it for the music, experiences, and friends. i haven't been on the board in a while, which is sad because i have made some great friends here, but now i see why.
next time something good happens i'll keep it to myself and avoid these judgements and assumptions.
I'm happy for the fans who were at the show, but bummed I didn't know about it especially since I live 3 blocks from the Kenyon and would have walked to the venue.
I guess I am curious how some folks knew to go to a certain place on a certain day to wait in line to see Ed...did they get a heads up first??? from who???
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!
That makes a lot of sense to me, even if I knew about it and I would have expected my threads to be deleted if I was that dumb enough to post about it.
No, I'm not calling anyone dumb...but it makes a lot of sense, though.
Wow...just wow.
That is every die-hard's dream of seeing their favorite band playing in a place that is so personal.... phew!
And it was a dream come true for those who got in!
Hey, aNiMaL - your prayers were kinda answered, but you were given a better "answer".
Way too awesome....
The thing is Ed specifically mentioned 3-4 times during the Monday performance to keep it a secret. He didn't want the venue at risk to people loitering and hangin out all day.

Well if the accusation of you selling a poster is not true.. then my apologies.
I just thought it was a crappy thing to do if it was true, I guess he has you confused with someone else.

$5 tickets went on sale at Easy Street for an "In to the Wild" event. People called around....a person who knows someone told someone about something.....then I got a cryptic PM....then a phone call from a good friend about a rumor of a rumor.....and I ended up on the steps on the community center with Jamainiac, Rockford, Einat, aNiMaL, and Robbie. The owner Easy Street came out and offered us coffee and tea....we could hear Ed playing through the door. A few minutes later the doors opened and we were invited in!
this is crap that i havent been in 10c seats ever or been to a secret show being as I am easily the biggest Pearl Jam fan on here. Its sad. I can out Pearl Jam anyone on any day of the week.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
When I read Animal mention he wasn't invited, but crashed the party, I was very curious who were the lucky invites!

The title says it all,...purchased a pair of tickets to the April 3rd Vancouver show via the WM3 ticket auction and i understand that a SIGNED poster from the show will be mailed out to me a month after the concert date as part of the auction.
if anyone has an extra poster from the 2 previous nights, and is interested in a trade (straight up) please place the poster aside CAREFULLY and send me a PM.
thanks

you don't know what you are talking about. i was also there, but had no cash (at the time we thought it was cash only for the posters). she was trying to help scrape up enough so that i could get a poster for myself.
After the show it looked like two guys were being kicked out. Some time had passed, and I think that they were buying too many posters (limit was 2 per person) so they were asked to leave. Politely at first, but the PJ or Easy Street person escorting them out was getting more and more stern/ aggressive.
I am guessing that this might be the ebay culprits?
It's disappointing because these two were out front with us other dedicated 12 fans who were let in late. It gives us a bad name, not to mention affecting their willingness to let us in next time.
You can be one of those people that EV spoke about at the first show, people who come up to him on the streets of Seattle and give him the finger and swear at him for not playing more shows in Seattle. Just kidding of course but he did tell this story at the Monday show so he knows it's an issue. ha ha.

well, i was among the 12...and after the show i over heard one of the lucky "invitees" say something along the lines of "the poster for this show is going to be worth a lot, so we should go get a couple."
p.s. near the end of the crowd, they upped the limit to 4 per person.

Ouch! I can't imagine people walking up to your face and giving you the finger... damn!
Worse, fucking strangers you don't even know!!!
I'm glad I never became famous... though that used to be my dream of being an actress.
Now that I'm older... no thanks! People would be spending too much time picking on my wrinkles and how washed out I am.
Anyway... do share that story??
I'm sorry about that escorting part for the 2 fans...but they wouldn't do it for the heck of it.
If you politely ask someone to leave and that person refuses to... what choice do you have but to be aggressive/stern?
It sucks to be the bad guy sometimes... ask any mom or dad!

Still reflects badly on the rest of us, regardless.

Love the poster, minus the cigarette. Seriously, why is it still cool to smoke cigarettes? What is it, 1950?

With a 2 per person limit what did they expect?
6/26/98, 6/30/98, 6/13/99, 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 8/25/00, 8/27/00, 8/29/00, 8/30/00, 10/8/00, 10/9/00, 6/15/03, 6/16/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/26/06, 6/27/06
I still see 2 up on ebay. Boo.
heh...you can hardly blame the guy though....make $500 for spending $20 at a concert?
Yeah, cool and all....but couldn't this have been done in a PM?

Yeah it does...but luckily for us, 10c folks do know there are great fans who do respect PJ.
aNiMaL is one of them so I think he represented us very well! And others like you...
They've been in the business for a long time so they've seen and dealt with a lot.
You'd think after that stalker who crashed into EV's house would have ended it all...
Two out of 12 isn't too bad and they, I would imagine, are always prepared for possible worse scenarios.
