wow, just wow... that 3rd round was incredible. Le rocked frank hard and you could see him get pissed and then he just came alive... He rocked Le and Le just stood in there, he just earned a new fan, that was an incredible fight on his part. Those kicks are insane

  • too bad they cut to commercial there. i didn't realize how badly frank was hurt at the end of the third. i thought he had survived that last flurry. le was smart to continue the attack there and gets the tko. excellent fight. :)

oh, and the knee i mentioned was in the last elite XC event against edson berto. i think i know the one you mean from the UFC...maybe the highlight reel ko of josh thompson? that was pretty amazing too. i'm hoping to see more of the same when he faces noons!

edit: oops guess they didn't cut to commercial...i just thought they were going to when i left the room to come make a post.

    yep, that was great!
  • overall, i am pleasantly surprised with tonight's show. :) i was expecting a good main event, and it far exceeded the hype! the others turned out to be one sided, but great performances turned in by the winners. what a card this would have been if not for the injuries and controversy!

oh, and you can probably check out more cung le fights on youtube and dailymotion if you're interested, leafs. all of his MMA bouts are under the strikeforce promotion, with a couple of those co-produced by elite XC. then there are ton of highlights and san shou and kickboxing matches too. i'm probabaly just stating the obvious, eh? :D "there's this new site called yotube!" haha :D
  • are you watching the WEC show next on TSN, leafs?

ha, i didn't even know it was on till you said something. And yes, yes i will watch it, any good fights you know of?

ya i'd say this was a good night of fights... that main event was insane and i can only hope that we get something like that in montreal.
I'll be checking out youtube for some Le fights forsure.

Okay, I'm a little jealous y'all get to see two events tonight. We don't have those channels down here (Damn Comcast ;) ). I guess I'll have to settle for a replay of Roger Huerta defeating Clay Guida. :)

sorry, you should consider satelitte lol, you can get anything with one of em.

huerta/guida, i'm more of a guida fan than i am huerta, i'm still hurt on how that one ends. Huerta is an amazing fighter though, don't get me wrong

  • here's the whole match from the last elite XC show...not only an incredible, unique finish, but a great fight too. (you might have to replay it a few times to see what happened! :D)

    yves edwards vs. edson berto:

...and the knockout of josh thomson in the UFC...this one was close to the end of the fight, if i remember correctly. it looked like it was going to a decision...and then

i think this is the one we were talking about.

It's a great fight. I like both fighters .. Huerta is just a little more fun to look at! ;) Guida will keep the lightweight division interesting for quite awhile I think.

alas, no satellite for me. I already get crap for spending money on ppv events when I'm eating cereal for dinner.

3 for me! :D although i slept through the first two hours of the three hour yarennoka show.

still, the strikeforce show was very good, and the WEC show is the one from wednesday...one LW fight that i liked a lot, and a couple of other really good performances too. not their best show, but i think i'll probably watch it again.

speaking of watching again...i think i may have watched that huerta guida match more times than i can count now! :D fight of the year 2007, in my opinion.

...sorry about the damn comcast, releash. :(

damn that dude is awsome... actually i think i saw both of those fights. Was the one with the knee on the same card as Kimbo/Tank? if so, then that's the one i was thinking of cause it looked really familiar

yep, we're talking about the same one then. yeah, yves is fantastic. hit a few losses there a while back, but always is exciting to watch. he's back on a winning streak, though (3? i think...) so i hope he can keep it going in june. :)

i think we were posting at them same time, leafs...i missed this one. yeah, if you're watching WEC, the first match is done i think...the best fight for me was rich crunkilton vs. sergio gomez. fast paced (caused a lull for a bit of time) and really back and forth for a while. fun match to watch.

there were a couple of impressive performances, not necessarily the greatest card of fights overall, but i don't want to give away anything though.

ya the 1st fight was pretty good... nothing spectacular. I was upstairs for most of the 2nd fight, but when i came back down it seemed really 1 sided (sorry don't know the names) and just ended with a choke.
