Okay, I'm a little jealous y'all get to see two events tonight. We don't have those channels down here (Damn Comcast ). I guess I'll have to settle for a replay of Roger Huerta defeating Clay Guida.
sorry, you should consider satelitte lol, you can get anything with one of em.
huerta/guida, i'm more of a guida fan than i am huerta, i'm still hurt on how that one ends. Huerta is an amazing fighter though, don't get me wrong

here's the whole match from the last elite XC show...not only an incredible, unique finish, but a great fight too. (you might have to replay it a few times to see what happened! )
...and the knockout of josh thomson in the UFC...this one was close to the end of the fight, if i remember correctly. it looked like it was going to a decision...and then

It's a great fight. I like both fighters .. Huerta is just a little more fun to look at! Guida will keep the lightweight division interesting for quite awhile I think.
alas, no satellite for me. I already get crap for spending money on ppv events when I'm eating cereal for dinner.

3 for me! although i slept through the first two hours of the three hour yarennoka show.
still, the strikeforce show was very good, and the WEC show is the one from wednesday...one LW fight that i liked a lot, and a couple of other really good performances too. not their best show, but i think i'll probably watch it again.
speaking of watching again...i think i may have watched that huerta guida match more times than i can count now! fight of the year 2007, in my opinion.

damn that dude is awsome... actually i think i saw both of those fights. Was the one with the knee on the same card as Kimbo/Tank? if so, then that's the one i was thinking of cause it looked really familiar

yep, we're talking about the same one then. yeah, yves is fantastic. hit a few losses there a while back, but always is exciting to watch. he's back on a winning streak, though (3? i think...) so i hope he can keep it going in june.
ha, i didn't even know it was on till you said something. And yes, yes i will watch it, any good fights you know of?
ya i'd say this was a good night of fights... that main event was insane and i can only hope that we get something like that in montreal.
I'll be checking out youtube for some Le fights forsure.
i think we were posting at them same time, leafs...i missed this one. yeah, if you're watching WEC, the first match is done i think...the best fight for me was rich crunkilton vs. sergio gomez. fast paced (caused a lull for a bit of time) and really back and forth for a while. fun match to watch.
there were a couple of impressive performances, not necessarily the greatest card of fights overall, but i don't want to give away anything though.

ya the 1st fight was pretty good... nothing spectacular. I was upstairs for most of the 2nd fight, but when i came back down it seemed really 1 sided (sorry don't know the names) and just ended with a choke.

you're right, one sided for hicks. he hurt ratcliffe right away with a right hand and it was all downhill for him from there. three strong guillotine attempts and a couple of strikes later and hicks had the win.
great 1st round in the gomez/crunkilton fight. lots of blood and sergio came back and ended the round really well (except the last takedown)... am i wrong or did i see sergio on an episode of tapout?

crunkilton vs. gomez just started. great first round! both guys showing their skills in their strengths. gomez with the better stand up and crunkilton with a nice d'arce attempt, exellent ground control, and incredible takedowns. those were really crafty...putting his shoulder underneath the knee of gomez and dropping him to a position where he doesn't have to be concerned about falling into a triangle and he immediately he has at least half guard. beautiful technique!

could be. i haven't seen all the tapout episodes, but they have done a few with WEC fighters for sure.
another good round, crunkilton looks really good and appears to love that d'arce lol. He is much superior at wrestling than gomez is and it is really showing in this fight. So far i've got it 2 rounds to 0 for crunkilton

i'd have to agree. you're also right about that d'arce!
good fight, i'm going to give a unanimous decision to crunkilton, gomez did show heart getting out of a couple good sub attempts, but overall crunkilton was the superior fighter tonite.
I am a little upset that there was no d'arce attempt in the 3rd though :(

the third round was the "lull" i was referring to before. the pace slowed in that one, eh? the engery expended in the first two rounds showed on both guys and crunkilton mostly used better position control and takedowns to wear sergio down. he just didn't have enough left to get back up like he was earlier in the fight and even if he did, crunkilton would take him down.
overall, i though it a pretty good fight, especially the first two rounds. the third was slower, but the first two made up for it.
should be 3-0 for crunkilton, but wait until you hear the scores, leafs!
lol, ya the 3rd was slower, but like you said crunkilton just used great positioning and worked the 3rd exactly like he should have. He left no chance for gomez to catch him with something and road out the round.
edit: ya i heard a 29-28 score. a little suprised at that, but i guess you could argue that gomez took the 1st............. not very well, but it could be argued lol

pretty much right on about what you said about arguing the first for gomez. it's just that it's not often you hear 30-26, 30-27, and 29-28 scores in the same fight. all over the road!

30-27, i think we'd say, eh?
ya 30-27 sounds right... crunkilton took every round but gomez wasn't right out of the fight, he could have came back and did something if crunkilton made a mistake imo. i guess this is why the 10 point system isn't good for mma
I do think that 30-26 is way more agueable than 29-28 though.

good description, and that's likely what made it such a good fight to watch. there were times it looked like gomez could win the fight and he was hanging in there otherwise.
mercy rule for this fight please! completely one sided for sonnen. other than his nice slam and suplex in the first, it's been all just sonnen with ground and pound.
wow, now that was a dominating fight. Sonnen should easily get the decision, but i have to give baker credit for staying in there, espcially at the end. He took a beating and showed tons of heart.

for sure. one of those ones where you almost wish he'd not have so much heart so that the ref could jump in and stop it. too much heart for one's own good sometimes.

it was a bit boring mostly because i don't think baker ever had a chance. I found Sonnen pretty impressive, who will he be fighting now?
edit: ya you were right, i was hoping the ref would step in
