so any predictions for tonite? i really haven't watched much elicit xc, so i don't know many of the fighters. The only 3 i really know are Jensen, Fickets, and shamrock.
i would have said villasenor (seriously...not just trying to say so afterward ), i'm really hoping cole knocks out kyle, but that's one i'm not liking on the main card.
also going with fickett. i hear good things about lim, but i think fickett will get him in a RNC. melendez should retain his title, but i think lemley will put up a game fight. it has the potential to be a fun match. gabe melendez is one of the best LW's in the world and is coming off his first loss to ishida. i suspect he'll be out to prove something.
the main event is really interesting! if frank is smart he'll TRY to get le down, but he says he wants to stand...so we'll see. his hands looked great against phil baroni, but le has so many weapons and options on the feet. he's an incredible striker. i'm 50/50 on that one...if it goes to the ground, shamrock for sure. if it stays on the feet, advantage to cung, but still a possibilty that frank could catch him.

gabe was saved by the bell there! melendez is definitely a man on a mission. lemley kept wasting his time with the guillotine attempts and kept getting the leg over the head but wasn't setting in the triangle properly...the most of the rest, gilbert was just landing consistent damage from the guard. one more takedown for melendez and this one's probably over.

beautiful arm in guillotine! physically, it looked like drew may have taken the last week off, thinking he wasn't going to fight, and ate some cookies. not as in shape as he usually is, but certainly as sharp as ever. he made that look easy on a guy that shouldn't be that easy to submit.
again, i wish that had been the fight against jake sheilds! next time, i guess...

wow, just wow... that 3rd round was incredible. Le rocked frank hard and you could see him get pissed and then he just came alive... He rocked Le and Le just stood in there, he just earned a new fan, that was an incredible fight on his part. Those kicks are insane

too bad they cut to commercial there. i didn't realize how badly frank was hurt at the end of the third. i thought he had survived that last flurry. le was smart to continue the attack there and gets the tko. excellent fight.
oh, and the knee i mentioned was in the last elite XC event against edson berto. i think i know the one you mean from the UFC...maybe the highlight reel ko of josh thompson? that was pretty amazing too. i'm hoping to see more of the same when he faces noons!

overall, i am pleasantly surprised with tonight's show. i was expecting a good main event, and it far exceeded the hype! the others turned out to be one sided, but great performances turned in by the winners. what a card this would have been if not for the injuries and controversy!
oh, and you can probably check out more cung le fights on youtube and dailymotion if you're interested, leafs. all of his MMA bouts are under the strikeforce promotion, with a couple of those co-produced by elite XC. then there are ton of highlights and san shou and kickboxing matches too. i'm probabaly just stating the obvious, eh?
