i'm getting used to the commentary, but the picture in picture is the distracting part. kind of scrappy fights so far, but this one between amir and byrnes is turning into quite a scrappy scrap!

I actually kinda like the commentary, but I'm not such a fan of the corner picture though.

he seems like quite a character. didn't look too bad in his fight either. needs a lot of polishing, but he's got some stand up skills.

crazy night again! i'm definitely going to have to go back and watch the fight night again. i think i missed out on a few lines in the premiere too, so might as well check that one out again too.

congrats on the ticket find, releash! that's awesome that you'll have some sweet pics with the bully to take home!

i feel bad for leafs going from first to the basement, and having to work during this show too! i'd say the three of us made out well otherwise, though. sorry, leafs. :(

I'm going to watch the TUF premier again too! I was trying to clean up my kitchen so I'm sure I missed some of the action (and funny commentary). I love Dana's facial expression during the fights .. he cracks me up.

I feel bad leafs had to work too. :( I told him to pick Gray though! Never doubt the Bully!

Edit: I just realized I've been abusing exclamation points tonight. I got way too excited with all the fighting, TUF and Montreal plans and the cheerleader in me came out. :(

1st off congrats on the win mookie, awsome picks!!!
I haven't watched the event yet (just turned it on) but i did check the results and although i got my ass kicked, most of the fights i got wrong, i wanted the other guy to win so it's works out anyways.
Sorry for voting against Gray, but i really thought Frankie was going to beat him. I'm a way bigger Manard fan, so this worked out well anyways.
Next, what is this thing that you guys bought tickets for? I'm going to read through the posts while i'm watching the event, but is it something i should be buying tickets for?

edit: HOLY SHIT, HOUSTON GOT HIS ASS BEAT!!!!!

wooooohooo count me in for the pre-party on the 18th... I just ordered 3 tickets, so me and my buddies will be there. This is shaping up to be better than i even expected... i'm so freakin excited!

i think the the commentary is hilarious.... sounds like all the things that Rogan and Goldie wish they could say during a fight....

after watching it again later, i realized it's the picture in picture that was bugging me. i'm in agreement with you guys. i kind of like hearing the "thoughts" of the coaches.

just finished watching four of the five pre-lims from the fight night. neer vs. thomas is the only one i haven't seen yet, but the rest were all pretty one-sided affairs. schiavo might have been the exception as he was actually getting the better of the limited striking on the feet against guida (who received a huge ovation when introduced to the crowd!) until guida took him down and the fight was pretty much over at that point.

most impressive win was probably george over roman. roman has some very good ground skills and george absolutely had his way with him there for the entire match. very impressive showing. credit to roman for escaping a coupe of sure submission in the first, though.

i'll upload these later on and send them out to you guys...releash i STILL owe you a gray fight vs. veres! i'll try to remember to do that after these ones.

edit: also, aurelio's submission win was 0:16, not 0:18...;):D

Kenny Florian (9-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC), who defeated Joe Lauzon in the main event of Wednesday's UFC Fight Night 13, could be next in line for a title shot. However, the 31-year-old fighter has his sites set on another fight with one of the division's biggest stars: Roger Huerta (20-1-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC).

Florian, when speaking to Yahoo! Sports, said he would prefer a fight with Huerta later this year when the subject of a potential title fight was broached.

UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn and former champ Sean Sherk meet in May at UFC 84, and Florian was considered the most likely candidate to face the winner of that fight.

Florian fought for the title once before and dropped a unanimous decision to then-champ Sherk in October 2006. However, since that loss, Florian has posted four consecutive victories -- all via stoppage and three via submission.

Huerta, meanwhile, has won 16 consecutive fights (with one no-contest) going back to June 2004. The 24-year-old fighter went 5-0 in 2007 and opted to take some time off this year.

Although he's quickly become one of the organization's top stars (with a Sports Illustrated cover to boot), he's been constantly criticized (arguably unfairly) for the level of competition he's faced.

Florian gave no other details for the potential bout, other than saying he'd like it to take place sometime this year.

In the story, Florian also clarified the injuries he hinted at during Wednesday's post-fight interview.

Florian suffered two bulging disks and tears in his back about a month ago.

On Wednesday he said: "I probably shouldn't be here today fighting today. I pushed through some things physically, and I was just lucky to be here in the ring tonight."

ya that fight night was incredible... every fight from start to finish was great. If Montreal can compare to this card, we are in for one hell of an evening.

Huerta/Florian should be pretty good but i'll be taking Huerta in that one for sure.

Oh and finally, Releash, you are coming to montreal all the way from TN? That's insane
