"its a met world..and we're all just a squirell trying to get a nut"...
    something along those lines...

Go Mets!!! what a team we got this year....

That John Maine is having a fine start to the season.

Omar really knew what he was doing getting Maine as a throw-in on that Jorge Julio for Kris Benson deal.

I get to watch some games against FLA this week because the Mets will be on in my area again. Haven't seen 'em play since the last Atlanta series.

El Duque got put on the DL today. Chan Ho Park is starting tonight. Anyone else worried?

Valentin has a partial tear in his ACL and is on the 15 day disabled list. Mets called up Ruben Gotay.

Losing 2 of 3 at home to the Fish is not what I had in mind to start the week.

At least the Mets now go to Phoenix where they've won eight in a row over the Diamondbacks.

Nice job by DWright to finally hit a homerun this week. Kick it up a notch in the desert and get ready to give your team a lift as summer will be here soon.

park is going back to new orleans, thank the fucking lord. maybe we can bring up humber
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • Check this out. The Mets brought up the guy who holds the major league record for most runs given up without ever getting an out.

Urdaneta had a rough brief stretch while with the Tigers. He allowed five hits and walked a batter, without retiring a batter. All six scored as well.

at least he wont break down like the yankees pitchers will, i loved seeing hughes get injuried during his no hitter game. that was so fucking sweet. fuck the yanks, seriously im done talking bout that shit team in here, yeah lets fire joe torre good idea

  • No, you got me there, he won't break down. He'll pitch all year. Won't get any outs, but he'll pitch. Why'd you get so excited seeing Hughes get hurt? Cause you know the Mets have no pitchers anywhere near that good in their system? Cause Pelfrey's 0-3? Or because a 20 year old was going to throw a no-hitter in his 2nd ever game, while The Mets have never thrown a no-hitter in their 45 year history?

gee try humber and a few other in the minors. the mets made a bad move in not going with a 5-man pitching staff from the start. pelfrey should of been up here all along, but once again willie makes a bad move

so nice to have some excitement, this season has felt a bit stale at times, but not tonight.

don't even start when you have that jack-ass John Sterling manning your radio booth

    ("The GIAMBINO!")

and to answer your question, Darling, he always struck me as the more submissive one.

Slow-ass Shawn Green made a diving catch in the ninth.

It was interesting enough that the clip made it onto Baseball Tonight in the waning moments.

Glad to see the Amazins pounding the ball a little bit. They could all stand to up their offensive output right about now.

Another HR for DWright tonight. Hope his turn-around continues.

Ever heard of a periodical called Baseball America? They put out this list, which ranks prospects. Well respected thruout baseball. Anyway, here are some cut and pastes from their list, reprinted without express written consent:

    4 PHILIP HUGHES, rhp, Yankees
As good as Chien-Ming Wang has been, this homegrown ace will be even better
Opening Day Age: 20. ETA: 2007

(the top 3 were Matsuzaka, gordon, and Delmon Young)

    20 MIKE PELFREY, rhp, Mets
Made the majors three months into his pro career, and should be even better now with his new slider
Opening Day Age: 23. ETA: 2007

    73 PHILIP HUMBER, rhp, Mets
Blew out his elbow 15 starts into his pro career in 2005, but bounced all the way back last year
Opening Day Age: 24. ETA: 2008

    C'mon Hellfish!

Why do you have to go bringing crazy things like injuries, facts, and informed journalistic opinions into this thing? You're ruining all our fun over here.

Besides, Syd Finch is still somewhere in the Mets' minor league system and he throws a nasty 135 mph slider or whatever. Eat that! :D

    Ah-ha!

Metsy counters with a Generation K reference. Isringhausen and Wilson were still able to have a measure of success after all that hype, albeit not in the Mets organization.

I think Pelfrey is going to be alright in the long run, but he had better start picking a few things from Glavine and Petersen's brains. He's not had a good start. And I'm not sure it's Willie's fault for keeping him in Triple A early on. He probably would've gotten rocked no matter where he started the season.

No argument here. Listening to the Yankees on the radio is painful. Sterling has become pathetic. And waldman? Ugghh. I wish they kept Steiner, he was great, but I guess Sterling won that power struggle.

Three out of four from the Dbacks in Phoenix.

That's excellent, considering the way the week got started.

Now it's on to San Francisco.

Beautiful game by Tommy, the one mistake to fuck head, but a solid start nonetheless,

The pen is rested an ready to go. I anticipate no problems.
