hey remember this, when all the Met fans were saying how Wright is better than ARod? Good times, indeed.
yeah i do, and i still think wright is better then a-rod. have fun when a-rod chokes in october AGAIN. isnt the yankee way to only care bout the postseason correct if im wrong and u cant cause im not wrong. fact is, the only time baseball season matters in yankee land is in october

sorry buddy, as much as i like david wright, he is not yet the player a-rod is and that's throwing out his choke in the postseason. A-rod will likely hit over 700 home runs when all is said and done. He's 31 years old and just 22 away from 500.

I'm not saying Wright won't become a great player. I think he will be more like a top 25 player in the game, which is still pretty good. And if you're going to bring up playoff chokes, Wright's first postseason wasn't exactly that great. He was 4-for-25 in the NLCS.

The bottom line is this, both are good players. But A-Rod is way too established for David Wright to be compared to him. The comparisons are not sensible considering their body of work and experience in the majors.

  • Aw, geez, I wasn't gonna do it, but now you've forced my hand. You made me do this:

    Alex Rodriguez
AB HR AVG RBI R SB
    75 14 .400 34 26 1

    David Wrong
AB HR AVG RBI R SB
    69 0 .261 4 11 3

"I see the frustration is getting to you FH,"

No, not really. Yeah, they're not playing great. Scratch that, they're hitting unbelievably well, but the pitching blows and the defense is shoddy, but baseball is sooooo long. You never fall too deep into or out of love in April. And you can make fun of the Yankees all you want for losing 2 in a row to tampa, but I guarantee you that if Tampa Bay was a NL team, they would be contenders. They would probably be the best team in the Central and West. They have so many good young players, they left Josh hamilton unprotected, and just called up a 2B from the minors who drove in 117 runs just 2 years ago. And they have this lefthanded pitcher, little guy. Maybe you've heard of him? Kazmir. pretty good. Not Victor Zambrano good, but maybe one day. (I guess I should probably point out the sarcasm here, with a touch of dry wit, so I don't get accused of saying Zambrano's better than Kazmir)
  • Oh yeah, nice bunch of Die-Easies you Met fans are. Beautful night, the game goes into extra innings.....and the stadium empties out. Saw a lot of orange tonight. Flipped over to the Cubbies, down 4-1, bottom 9, driving rain, and not an empty seat in the house to watch Cliff Floyd whiff to end the game.

Honestly, I don't wish to defend all Mets fans. For the most part, I think they are great fans and I didn't notice what you were talking about tonight. (not to say its not true). However, I know what kind of fan I am, and I've never left a game early.

right, you miss the point. i'm saying not to compare a-rod and wright because they're different types of players.

The list in my head was too long. I was ready to throw out Kenny Rogers, Alex Escobar, Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Carlos Baerga, Brett Saberhagen, and Victor Zambrano, but I had to limit myself.

At least Strawberry and Gooden gave us two division titles and a world championship before they crapped out. Man, those guys could have been Hall of Famers if they could have sustained their success. Damn shame.

Who's starting for the Mets on Friday?

Yea, he has been pretty disappointing thus far. I hope he either finds some sort of stride, or that Omar makes some sort of acquisition. But, as long as Perez and Maine pitch to their potential, and Hernandez doesn't die of old age, we should be ok. Cause we know Glavine is gonna keep rockin' this season.

Atlanta lost in 11, Mets back in first!

Troy Tulowitzki had an unassisted triple play in the 7th inning of the Atlanta/Colorado game .
