what a great day this was, ollie was in da zone all game long, sucks he couldnt get the 1-hitter GC. and dam gomez looks sweeeeeeeeeeet, omar should trade lastings and get pitching. good move by the team in sending pelfrey down to the minors, i think pelfrey needs more work on his off speed stuff

i think trading lasto could come back to bite us big time. sad to see pelfrey go down so soon but it was probably the right move.

Great game Mets fans. See yea at Miller park in July I think? :D

Its actually July 31, Aug 1st, and 2nd

but it should be a good series.

I can't tell you how impressed I am with seeing the Brewers up close. The lineup, the bullpen, the starters, I'll bet they stay in the race throughout.

As far as the Amazins, they showed the type of things they are capable of with many of their key players riding the pine even!

Wright is coming on. Reyes is just being Reyes. Pitchers and rookies are coming through with big RBI's, and we're rolling along like I always knew we would. It's all good in Metland right now, and we're gonna get some people back (Pedro,Mota) or make a trade or 2 to solidify the few weaknesses we do have. Should be a great season

    LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!!!

Great series this weekend best of luck to the Mets. I'm glad you liked the Brewers up close. Long way to go in the season. For now I just want them to keep playing smart baseball. Will see what happens. :)

Brewers definitely look like they'll be in the race until the end of the season. Good luck to you guys, and we'll see you guys again in July.

I think Omar is banking on Pedro's healthy return and won't trade Milledge at all. Besides, with a banged-up set of outfielders he can't have too much depth there right now.

If a trade does happen, I'd think it will be between the All-Star Game and the trading deadline. They should know by then whether Petey is going to be 100% and able to help the team for the stretch run.

So glad tonight's game against the Cubs is on ESPN! I get to sit and watch the Mets play in the comfort of my own living room.

Not the start I had hoped for the Amazins tonight.

Uninspired defense has led to an early 4-0 deficit.

weird game but a win is a win

You hate to see defense like we did in the 2nd, seems like a great way to lose a playoff game, but whatever, if we need to make some adjustments we will, D. Wright seems to be back to normal, and the pen was sharp as usual. Glavine deserved a better fate, but hey, at least we picked him up enough to tie it before he left.

No style points here, but we'll take it

Pinella hasn't been starting Floyd against lefty starters(Glavine), but I'm sure he'll be in there at least 2 out of the next 3

  • BrainofdzBrainofdz Posts: 1,617
I always liked the guy but I don't think he has much left, If Alou can stay relatively healthy (at least 120 games), I think he has more to offer than Cliff.
Speaking of that though, it seems Moises is headed to the 15 day DL

Uncle Cliff is better off (and so are the Mets) with his spot on the Cubs roster.

I'm glad last night turned out a winner for our guys, but it could've been a lot prettier. Nice to know that there are some patient hitters in that lineup. Or maybe that they just got a gift from a guy that couldn't find the strike zone in the 9th.

Anyway, here's to a big fat series win and a great homestand. Let's go Mets!

last couple of seasons? His career year was 05, 30 hrs and 100 rbi's, and last year injuries were a major factor, though I still agree with the move.

I love Reyes! the commotion that guy can cause is sick!! a single in the ninth...turns into a bases loaded walk for the winning run! What an at bat for Carlos Big Stick Delgado too!

*by the way....Cliff Floyd can go grab a beer w/ Bobby Bonilla in some Jersey Bar...and stay there for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned*

I don't know. He had a good year, but the Mets weren't going anywhere. It just felt kind of meaningless. Also, when it really counted for the Mets he was never there. I just never liked him I guess.

btw, wright is starting to heat up ... and finally over the HR derby slump.

    over the last 7 ... hitting .435, slugging .870, 6 rbi and 4 steals

Its awesome. If he can really get back on track he'll be a huge addition to the Mets offense.

Good, because him and Jeter are the cornerstones of my fantasy lineup. If only Delgado could heat up too, that'd help me out tremendously.

Kind of a strange starting line up for the Mets today. Very few regular starters.

    E. Chavez CF 0-0
    R. Gotay SS 0-0
    S. Green RF 0-0
    C. Delgado 1B 0-0
    J. Franco 3B 0-0
    D. Newhan 2B 0-0
    R. Castro C 0-0
    C. Gomez LF 0-0
    J. Vargas P

Thanks for reminding me it's on. I can actually watch today! Franco @ 3B? This is going to be entertaining. Perhaps Willie is resting the starters and sharpening the reserves for this weekend's series against the Yankees.

Mets score five runs in the ninth inning!!!!!

Win 6-5 and take three out of four from Cubs. Bring on the Yankees.
