So far so good, Maine looks good, the hitting looks good
and that melee is about to fire everyone up.

Now you just have to cross your fingers and toes for the Nats to help y'all out today.

    Hang in there!

Edit: Whoa! That looks like yanks/red sox out there. That was unnecessary. Stay focused! That guy went at Reyes!

X-I want to hear a full report about what happened later, please!
They had Kiner in the booth in the early innings!

Bri-It'll be ok. They're looking good.

    aw you poor thing.

Tommy will take care of business tomorrow, no worries. What you have to concern yourself with is this Nats/Phils game.

yeah hopefully the nats will help out us.mets pitching coach rick peterson clearly started this all the first time they almost fought.you could tell he was pissed at marlins catcher miguel olivo, as was reyes.thank god reyes wasnt ejected, i think shea would of started a riot act

  • Did you hear Ron Darling talking about guys who are tough when they're being held back by 4 guys? That was Reyes. When it was just him and Cabrera, he was calm, relaxed. then when there were 4 mets holding him back, he all of sudden went into a "Let me at em, I'll murderize him!!!" rage. Oh, and nice hustle Jose. looks like Willie's been neutered, not pulling him from the game. Nice job putting your manager in a tough spot there, Jose. Either he pulls you from a must-win game or he lets the players get away with anything.

    I heard him.

Willie can't pull Reyes from this game, he's lucky he didn't get ejected w/Oliva.

The whole thing was unnecessary, they have to stay focused. Wright was pulling people out of fights-someone could have gotten hurt.

Well at least they're winning. Nats put up a run in their game.

  • I understand. You make a very valid point. The thing is, it was already 7-0. So Willie could have yanked him, and hopefully he would never do it again after that. But he didn't learn the first time, so who knows. I also wonder what the other players think about it. They'll never say so, but I'm sure a bunch are pissed about it, and would not at all minded seeing him grab some pine.

the place would have went nuts to yank their star SS in this ballgame. I bet Willie will speak to him about it later on in private.

I think right now all they care about is that they win and the Nats lose.

The way Reyes was getting booed, I don't think the crowd would have had a problem. Did you see SNY's poll, whether or not Reyes should be benched? It was 80% yes, and 20% no. That stuff just can't be tolerated. The first lesson of babseball, when you play tee ball is:You hit the ball, you run hard until someone either tells you it's foul or that you're out. I know hustling is not the in thing to do and won't get you on Sportscenter, but players can't get away with hitting a ball and just standing at home plate. especially when they've done it before.

dude you make valid points, but the last thing on the team was that, it was getting a win and saving there jobs and willie's job.if it was any other game i think willie would of pulled him.

oh i totally agree with you on that, it will mostly be the vets of the team who are pissed, they hate that shit young guys pull today

Wow. We needed today's game so badly. Ok. Tom Glavine on the mound tomorrow. The offense has been ready to go. I wouldn't want it any other way.

it was actually funny because my friend i went with is one of these pessimistic met fans, so while keep insisting that the mets are going to win, i say wouldn't it something if john maine threw a no-hitter?
