    hmmm. true. Good point.
Yea I thought Pedro would get it done for sure last night.

the mlb.com guy on SNY's postgame implored the Mets to start Pedro on Monday, should it come to that, saying he could probably go no more than 4 innings, but those are the 4 innings they brought him here for. He said Pedro could be relieved by anyone and everyone, Perez, Maine, El Duque

And now I'm watching a replay of Daily News Live on SNY, and they brought in that idiot Ferrell and a freaking psychic. the psychic did see in her cards that the Mutts would lose tonight and win over the weekend

    Hah,
    I hope she's right!

Has anyone heard of this, the Mets Poet?

I can't watch that show, it's too much over analysis. pregame and postgame shows are enough for me and all i really care about is what the manager and players have to say.

Darling and Hernandez have both been outstanding this whole season, not just during the collapse. They may very well be the best announcing duo in the league. I just can't stand Gary Cohen.

rough night in New York eh?

Mets lost a ,what 10+ or so lead, in their division.
and Rivera gave up 3 runs in Baltimore.

gary cohen's home run calls are decent, but his contempt against the yankees is annoying kind of in the way it's annoying when some fans at shea tend to chant yankees suck when the yankees are down 1-0 in the first inning of any game.

another thing i like about the mets announcing team is that they're not afraid to rip that barrage of noise coming out of the loudspeakers at shea.

this has nothing to do with anything
but I met Ron Darling when my parents took me to one of those hotels up in the Catskills when I was little. I can't remember the name of it but he was there and I met him and got his autograph and a photo taken. He was very nice.

    ok carry on :)

least he ACTUALLY makes a home run call, when its a home run unlike sterling does.

The HR calls are one of the reason I can't stand Cohen. It's the same exact call every time (Much like Sterling, another guy I can't stand) but with Cohen, he goes apoplectic when a Met hits a HR,

AAAAAND, IT'S OUTTTTTTTA HERE!!!!!! I expect a shot of him in the booth wearing pom poms, or a rally cap, which he did in fact wear earlier this year.

or, when the other team hits one, it's:

    it's outta here......

and he sounds like he's about to cry.

believe me i know, sterling is a massive source of comedy for me, especially that little shake he does when the yankees win.

You won't get an argument from me, and I suspect there won't be too may Yankee fans defending Waldman and Sterling. They are terrible, pretty much unlistenable. The worst move the Yankees have made off the field in recent years was letting Charlie Steiner go and keeping Sterling, then pairing him with Susan Waldman. God, they're brutal. And speaking of brutal, Kei Igawa celebrates 1 brutal year in NY, brought to you by Benihana

What makes it more absurd besides the sound, is that she's covered the yankees since the inception of wfan in 1987. i'd think any of the four World Series titles are a bit more dramatic than roger clemens announcing he was returning at the beginning of May.

and speaking of Francesa and Russo, Waldman had a big shouting match with Russo about it at Shea Stadium when the Yankees played the Mets.

    agreed

    and mean :)

although I am also no Michael Kay fan. Sometimes I have to mute the tv set. I think he talks to hear the sound of his own voice. I like all the former players they have come in, esp. Al Leiter. Hey maybe Al can fly up and pitch for the Mets tomorrow? ;)
